Dick Yuengling rips Philadelphia over $6 million lawsuit

Dick Yuengling said he was "probably the happiest guy in the beer business" - until Tuesday.

--snip-- The suit claims that Yuengling refused to let the city's Revenue Department audit its books, so the department made an assessment based on a Philly beer distributor's accounts-payable list.

The suit has no details of what activities Yuengling conducted in Philadelphia that the city found to be taxable. City officials declined to elaborate.

Green said that filing suit may have been the only way to access Yuengling's records. "This lawsuit will allow the Department of Revenue to do the discovery that Yuengling rejected," he said.

I like the Yuengling Black and Tan...but recently, I’ve discovered Sapporo...and Stella Artois...

And sure if it’s Killian’s Irish Red that holds a dear spot in me heart o’ hearts as well...

Decisions, decisions, decisions....

“...Who would even want to taste Budweiser, free or not?..”

My friend...stop and think about this for a moment...

FREE BEER...(Budweiser notwithstanding)

Yer givin’ me heart palpitations over here with that thought....

It’s a concept near and dear to every man...

Their Traditional Lager is our drink of choice (and goes great with the weekend steak & egg breakfast)

Once we made this discovery (plus the fact that it seems like every bar in the ‘Burgh has Yeungling on draft), we bid Budweiser & Iron City adieu with no regrets.

Cheers to you & your wife - you obviously have great taste!

Don’t discount politics in this... Dick Yuengling is a Republican, and was a delegate to the RNC when it was in Philly.
