HOUSTON - A suspected robber is in the hospital Tuesday after a homeowner shot him twice after he caught him climbing over his back fence.

The suspect ignored a “no trespassing” sign on the fence and climbed over the fence into the bed of a truck. That is when the homeowner came out to investigate.

From the comments, Greg Thompson writes: "KHOU he did not shoot him for climbing into the yard as your headline states, he shot the POS because he was trespassing and he feared for his safety. You morons. "

The homeowner may already have this sign. If not - he needs it.

KHOU trying to poison the jury pool, however, in Texas it is less likely that he will be charged at all.

Wouldn’t work anyway. KHOU tried it with Joe Horn and it didn’t work - the Grand Jury no-billed him.

We had a situation in N.GA last week where a home owner fired off a couple of shots at a vehicle that had simply used his drive way to turn around. He killed the passenger, I think.

For the time being, I would just stay off people’s property/land at all costs.

I have that same sign, but put a few rounds through it.
Makes the point.

Gotta love it.

I love stories with a happy ending.

That's over the line. However, I agree with you.

Yeah, and when seconds count, the police may be making out with their girlfriends or loading up their shopping.

He won’t be charged. We have a “castle” law - it’s okay to use deadly force to protect our property and ourselves. If the person thinks property and/or life is theatened, SHOOT HIM.

A friend of mine who does caligraphy did a nice Biblical appearing one for me: “I forgivest not they who trespass against me. John 30:06”.

Great idea.
My mother in law does outstanding calligraphy.
And she gets the humor in that.

I think my verse will come from the book of armaments, chapter 5. (monty python reference there)
