Honestly... I hadn't seen him before. Watched the whole 27 minute youtube video. Liked him for the first 10 minutes. By the time he was done I didn't care for him so much.

So he makes a great point advocating a flat tax. I agreed 100%. Throw out all the loopholes. Everyone pays flat tax rate. Then 5 minutes later he's talking about pretax contributions to a health savings account. (pretax means loophole). He's like everyone else. And those type of inconsistencies don't work if you're a republican. Obama gets away with them because the press loves him. This guy won't get away with it.

Throw out all the loopholes...It's probably expecting a bit much for a totally integrated governmental system in a less than thirty minute speech - Dr. Carson does say that he'd put federal money into helping to fund medical savings acounts for those who couldn't afford them on their own, so I guess what would be "loopholes" for some would be balanced by subsidies for others......

I was much more impressed and elated by Dr. Carson's demolition of Obama's whole social justice/tax the rich/everybody must pay his fair share schtick - "I consulted the fairest being in the universe - God" he jibes at one point, then says taking so much from some people is "why we have 660 accounts in the Caymen Islands", and closes with "why try to hurt the guy - he already put a billion dollars in the pot". Obama is too ignorant and deceitful to admit ever that when the top two percent of the earners in the country are paying over forty percent of all the income taxs collected, the rich are already paying more than their fair share.......
