This has been going on for a long time. Back in ‘92 I was a low income college student and decided that as a new Veteran I would go to the local social security office and try to get Medicaid (medicare?) for catastrophic coverage. I was told flat out, “you a white boy, go get a job!”
Was the person who told you that white? (I'm betting $0.25 she was black.)
