I know it it too expensive for power plant use now but I was curious if the the real world effiency for SOFC was anywhere close to what was promised.
I think they would be best when the heat produced can be used productively.
I had a proposal with GE more than a decade ago for a home unit to provide power along with the waste heat for swimming pool & hot tub, but nothing more than paper was ever produced.
