A three-day discussion on gun control that drew hundreds daily to the Minnesota Capitol ended Thursday night, Feb. 7, with heated debate on a bill that would outlaw high-capacity ammunition magazines.

Nearly a dozen bills are beginning to make their way through the legislative process, with measures that include banning assault rifles as well as requiring universal background checks for gun buyers and more mental health screenings for handgun permits. Gun-control proposals may have their best chance yet this year, but even advocates admit it will be a tough battle. Many rural lawmakers, no matter their party lines, are reluctant to back legislation that might appear to step on the rights of gun owners.

Watched an old Daniel Boone rerun yesterday. Boonsboro was on the verge of being attacked.

"Daniel....What's the sense of having guns if we don't have gun powder?"

How about...You can use a big magazine (or clip) if you tie one hand behind your back....

I think Congress....and Governor Cuomo need to see a demo....to realize how stupid they are...and see that this is NOT a solution...and see that this only effects ordinary, honest, law abiding gun owners.

Government spends way too much time trying to get around a Constitution to too an oath to protect.

You can say that again. Their actions lately make me wonder if any of them have even read it.

Here in Texas, too, a bit over a dozen gun bills are making their way through the bi-annual legislative process. ALL are PRO 2nd Amendment! Things such as "open carry", shortened CCW training times, allowing concealed carry on school property, disallowing Federal enforcement of any violations of 2nd Amendment, legal manufacture, sale and use of firearms up to 1.5" bore dia. & associated accessories within the state without Federal controls, etc, etc.

They are not interested in solutions, only in making political points they think help them get re-elected or furthering an agenda.

Limiting to small mags is a much more severe restriction for handicapped folks. I have 2 hands that work well (except for typing sometimes), so I can swap mags quickly. Seems we shouldn’t handicap the handicapped to limit their self-defense options.

Note from the doctor for hi-cap purchase?

Not exactly where I was going. Building all have ramps today - those that don’t have street-level access. The ramps are there for wheelchairs, but no one complains if I walk up one of them. Same with hi-cap mags - offer them for the handicapped, but anyone should be able to use them.
