Trying to explain the zero economic growth at the end of 2012, White House spokesman Jay Carney blamed Republicans for "talk about letting the sequester kick in as though that were an acceptable thing." He left out that President Obama proposed the sequester in 2011.

The Conservative Heritage Foundation list the truth about sequestration's effect on the US military. The picture isn't as rosie as the WSJ is spinning things.

Don’t Gut Our Military: $150 Billion in Commonsense Proposals to Prevent Sequestration

Ronald Reagan had a long and proud association with the Heritage Foundation. This isn't a "left wing" group that is telling the country that these cuts to our military are wrong and will cause great harm.

Moreover, I have never seen a letter signed by seven different 4-star Generals that used language so strong and dire to our politicians as this one:

A letter to lawmakers signed by each member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff

Meanwhile, the military readiness news gets scarier by the day:

By year's end, troops will be unable to respond to crises, Pentagon says

The so-called Conservatives who are applauding this travesty should be ashamed of themselves. Sequestration does nothing about Entitlements, which are gobbling up 2/3rds of all spending are and are spinning out of control. Entitlements are breaking the back of this nation, and sapping our morality, destroying our national will, and crippling our economic vitality.

Defense is a Constitutional enterprise, and both parties are holding it hostage and slowly torturing it do death.

It is absolutely amazing to me that is the Republicans that have flipped 180 degrees on gutting the military since the election. The betrayal is simply stunning. For months, they told the truth about the military cuts (17% of the budget taking 50% of the sequester cuts).

During the Dec/Jan "Fiscal Cliff" negotiations they didn't lift a finger to stop the sequester.

Now, we have Paul Ryan and Eric Cantor smirking on the Sunday shows about how great it is.

Incredible.
