My grandmother was 16 when she ran away with and married my grandfather, who was 25. She barely knew him except that they shared dislike for a common stepmother (the woman had first married my grandfather's widowed father, and then on his death, my grandmother's ).

They were married for over 60 years.

Interesting. It wasn’t too long ago when ‘kids’ this old were married, building and having families and creating America as we know it now.
