My oldest son got his girl friend pregnant when she was 15 years old. Her father went to the police to try to have him arrested for statutory rape, he gave up on the idea when the cops pointed out to him that my son was 4 months younger than his daughter.
A side note to this story:
My wife and I encouraged her to have the baby and we would take it and raise it, or support her and the baby, she was for it but her father was not and forced her to get an abortion. Yes, I said forced.
My grand child would have been 24 years old this year. The g/friend’s father died 2 years ago. When I heard the news, I immediately thought, that he was having to answer some very serious questions.
Their family was Catholic and we’re not. I went to Catholic family services, they even sent a Priest to his house to talk to him. It did no good at all. The girl could have moved in with us.
Sorry for the long reply, I have to unload this once in a while.
You and your family did everything you could. That must give some comfort. Its a sad story. I am sorry you don’t have your grandchild with you all.
The author's claim was that the crimes went unprosecuted because they were black on black. Sorta sounds like the Sandy Hook murders versus a typical Chicago Saturday night, doesn't it?
So sorry to hear this story. May he burn forever. I think your family is fantastic to do everything you could to stop the abortion. God Bless you and your family.
I am so very sorry for you and your husband and the mother and father of this precious baby who dwells with Jesus.
My sympathies.
As a Catholic, I’m frustrated by the fathers stubbornness and lack of commitment to the principles of his faith, even when approached by a priest.
I salute you for attempting a fine Christian solution to a sensitive situation. Plenty of good, God fearing people have been born out of wedlock. That child deserved a chance to live.
