You mentioned “herd mentality”
I have come to the conclusion that most humans are pack animals.

For all of our talk of Freedom, it is the empirical truth.

One of the cops may have seen a dog in the back of a blue truck at some time during his life, or maybe concluded a truck bed is large enough to conceal one bad guy.
So he started shooting as fast as he could, and all the others didn’t want to be left out so they all emptied magazines, all in complete disregard for civilians.

Good think these Cops weren’t Anti Aircraft Gunners in WWII. We would have lost a whole bunch of Airplanes and Crew to friendly fire.

Now, where is that graphic of what Journalists and Politicians think are Assault Weapons again?

To Serve and Protect, reminds me of “To Serve Man”.

In this case the asian women never had the option

They are Hispanic.

These gals are about to become very rich.

Maybe, but I think they'll get actual damages only.Medical bills, time lost, etc. LA is Broke, California is Broke, and so is the federal government. Who'll gonna pay that tab? Our grandchildren?

What’s worse is being shot then having Kanye West in the operating room yelling that it should have been Beyonce.

All the police officers involved need to go through re-training for deadly physical force,

They all need to be fired. The worst offenders need to go to jail.

I would, you would, they should. Since they wouldn't be safe in California prisons, I'll be we have a few spare cells in Huntsville Texas.

Just re-training and more range time? Not charged and tried for attempted murder?

How are their actions any different than Dorner's?

Don’t worry, Mayor Tony Villar (his real name), wants to raise Sales Taxes by half a cent. He’ll find the money,

Whitey has deep pockets, (West L.A. / Beverly Hills / Brentwood), don’t you know.

Remember, he was the guy at the DNC Convention who couldn’t tell the difference between the Ayes and the Nays at the DNC Convention.

Sharp as a Boulder that Boy is.

Somehow LA's finest missed the cues of the newspapers flying out of the truck's windows and onto the driveways every time the truck stopped.

"Oh my God! Djorner's throwing pipe bombs at us!"

Oakland.

Could be, as a temporary hang out. But he was apparently heading for Mexico. Although I'm a bit skeptical about that. When he failed at stealing a boat, he was a lot closer to Mexico than to Big Bear, where he supposedly went after that.

So, Dorner is a cold-blooded murderer and these guys who did exactly the same thing as he are merely Dumbass chicken shits?

what would you call seven cops who opened fire on two women without warning?

Seven Cops extremely nervous for the truth to be told.

“Details emerge in LAPD’s mistaken shooting of newspaper carriers”

This was not a “mistaken shooting”, it was an intentional attempt to murder the occupants of the truck without an actual knowledge of the identity of those occupants. A clear case of attempted murder.

In retrospect, it was pretty reckless to be driving a blue truck that morning

Why? The "suspect" had a GREY NISSAN!

No, They are unprofessional dumb ass chicken shits and should be relieved of duty.

They, unlike Dornan did not set out to kill or maim with malice of forethought, but that does not absolve them of their actions.

Seven Cops extremely nervous for the truth to be told.

They waited until the truck had passed, then opened fire from behind, without warning.

This sounds like attempted murder to me, though there will be all sorts of folks who will work very hard to find reasons to apply a double-standard, such as what the Chief is doing.
