America is doomed, period.
Keep in mind though, that the neighborhoods of the postwar middle class, which were filled with children, and stay at home moms, are now over-run with lower classes and “others”.
I could afford more children and a stay at home wife/mother, but I will not have them live in those neighborhoods or interacting with the denizens. So, I work and my wife works to keep our children in better neighborhoods and private schools.
The neighborhood I grew up in has completely turned, the houses are run down, full of blacks and hispanics who take care of nothing. The lawns are not mowed, the driveways not shoveled, and there is junk and graffiti almost everywhere.
What gave rise to the urban middle class was the population boom of the previous three hundred years. The Renaissance was in many respects a period in decline, because cause of the Turkish menace from about 1400 to 1700. The Portuguese and Spanish explorations were an effort to get around the Turkish monopoly in the eastern med. Accidentally they created a whole new whole new trading system.
And become even more like Europe(which is what the left wants).
Very true, and along with that, the roles that women played in society are now considered inferior. Right now, I am “grandma on call”, and when someone has a baby or is sick, I am the one who goes to help. Why is that not a meaningful job? What has happened to neighborhoods and communities? Women used to look out for each other, take care of their kids and neighbors, and be the ones to care for their families and the community. Now, neighborhoods are just row after row of empty houses during the day and people hardly know each other. If this is progress, then it’s a sad sort of progress.
Don’t we have the fat degenerate loser teddy kennedy to thank for this excessive immigration? Roast in hell Teddy.
Many will be living until far past retirement age — alone and with dwindling resources.
And the politicians will exploit that.

They really suck. We need far less of them and far less government.

I’m not sure it’s progress at all. This is our neighborhood. Women work and don’t even KNOW each other, much less help each other out. if you ask for help, you are given a weird look and a defintite NO. I mean ..you don’t even ASK. It’s just judgemental out the wazoo. The most they will do is gossip about you. Women work, and they go in their houses at night and do whatever ...God knows what. The last time I experienced help was while being a young military wife on base ...we really helped each other out there.
Many of the unhelpful in our neighborhood are also older women ...so it’s not a younger women thing at all. Older women want to be left alone, it seems, or they are still very busy pursuing careers.
Needless to say, we really wish we could move. We might as well be out in the country, for all the contact we have here with our neighbors. Typical DC crap.

I suggest you reread my post. This story is about ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. Legal Hispanic (including Mexicans) permanent immigrants have not decreased significantly. They still make up the majority of legal immigrants and those numbers have not been declining. We have limits as to the number of legal immigrants we admit each year. That is the only reason why there are not significant increases.
It sucks for men, because we can’t propagate the species without women.
And there was a time that everybody understood that, and also understood how important it was to continue the species. That is a major reason why government gives special support to marriage, because that was always the way that we ensured couples would get together, stay together, have kids, and replenish the stock of humanity.
The left has spent 50 years eliminating the very idea of having kids from the culture, so now they can argue that marriage is about who you love, not about creating the next generation.
Everybody is just selfish now, looking out for number one. It’s all about their happiness, and screw the world. So they want free condoms, so they can have free sex with no consequences, and they want people with money to give them free healthcare, and food, and housing, and to take care of them when they get old, so they can do what they want, spend all their money on their own desires.
And they want government to pay them incentives to live with whom they want, and to take care of any kids they do manage to have in spite of themselves, if they aren’t getting free abortions to solve that problem.
And it is too bad that nature itself requires the women give birth, because we seem to be breeding out of our species the female’s natural instinct to love and cherish little ones. They now are as ruthless, more ruthless, than men, more selfish, more self-centered if that is possible — because a man cannot be the one to have the baby.
But all we care about is that next trip to europe, and a big screen TV, and a new car, and a big house, and kids just get in the way.
Interesting. I thought it was population decreases that broke serfdom because the vassals were more scarce and labor was treated more deferentially... leading to more freedom and mobility.
I’m speaking of the 12-13oo’s while you seem to be speaking of the 13oo’s into the 1700’s.
