I think we can finally put to rest the age-old question of whether the mainstream media wants intelligent reporters.

These are the people, the news media, who have a very significant role in shaping the political opinions of the casual public. They are, most often, news readers with no particular expertise on most of the topics they report - including the economy etc. They should not be shaping public opinion.
I would start by taking away news media involvement in televised political debates.

Well of course asteroids will want to come here as it gets warmer.
It is like elderly New Yorkers flocking to Florida in the winter.

Actually, George W. is a lot more responsible for the asteroid than anything else. Glad he’s gone.

Glenn Beck sidekick Pat did a wicked Algore impression:
“Well, you must understand, Deborah, that carbon dioxide buildup in the upper atmosphere creates a heightened magnetic field in the Van Allen radiation belts that may actually skew the asteroid’s trajectory, I mean, we simply cannot rule out this possibility.”

(This is not a statement of fact. It is either opinion or satire; or both)

Clearly, you don’t have to have a brain to be a news reader, you just have to have a pretty face for the cameras and be able to read common English.
The pay’s good, too.

Respectfully disagree. Very guilty. She could open a beer can with her chin. Frat party value significantly reduced post graduation.
