CHEHALIS, Wash - A man who broke into an occupied home early Sunday in Chehalis was shot by the home's owner, the Lewis County Sheriff's Office says.
Deputies arrived at the home shortly before 5 a.m. to find one man with a gunshot wound.
Deputies say a 51-year-old man broke into the home where a 24-year-old man and his wife were sleeping. The owner called 911, then armed himself with a pistol while waiting for deputies to arrive.
At one point, the suspect charged down a hallway toward the homeowner, who fired a shot, hitting the suspect. The two men then became involved in struggle until the suspect was able to break free. The homeowner held the suspect at gunpoint until deputies arrived.

Thank you for posting these articles with happy endings where the good guys with guns triumph over evil. Although it would have been better for the thug to be shot graveyard dead, my wish is that wounds are traumatic and will ultimately lead to an excruciating, painful death as another bad guy joins the likes of Mohammed, Hitler, Mao and Ted Kennedy for a smokin’ hot eternity.
Not good to call 911 before you shoot. And defiantly not good after you shoot the intruder to have him walking!
24 year old ‘Good Guy with a Gun’ : One; 51 year old ‘Bad Guy’ : Zero.
BTW, won’t the ACLU argue that the Bad Guy was not accountable for his actions because he was insane? Well, the Meth he took made him insane, but HE was insane, none the less.
