This is true. I'm in New Orleans probably a dozen times a year. I rarely stay downtown or in the Quarter, but I do manage to eat BBQ oysters at Drago’s every visit. Still, the city is a hell hole, and it has the absolute worst airport in the country.

We have an office there and I am there just about every month. Uptown is as nice as a neighborhood as anywhere in the country. I’m not a big fan of the Quarter, but Frenchmen is a great street to drink or listen to music.
Stay away from dealing drugs in Central City and you will be okay.
