A New Hampshire police group that plans to raffle 31 guns in May received this offer from an alarmed critic of the giveaway: He would raise $30,000, buy all the guns, and bring them to his local police station to be destroyed. Another critic floated an idea to have the guns melted, turned into jewelry, and sold to help victims of gun violence. But the New Hampshire Association of Chiefs of Police plans to proceed with the raffle, citing fears of a lawsuit from disgruntled ticket-buyers.

The Boston Globe makes it sound as thought the nut who wants to buy commonly available guns so that he can destroy them, because he thinks all police should be against the Second Amendment, is the reasonable one.

In a way he is reasonable. His behavior is perfectly reasonable for an anti-constitutional, Nervous Nellie socialist with no understanding of guns, gun commerce and the law. Just like the editors at the Globe

Maybe he should beat them into plowshares. After all, when the muzzies take over they’ll need some infidels to plow for them. Then they’ll kill him last.

Note that raffle ticket buyers are “disgruntled” and the gun banner is “alarmed”.

This behavior is bordering on psychotic. It’s an irrational fear of inanimate objects, and it seems to be amplifying.

I wonder how the media will report it when nuts like this start blowing-up gun stores?

"These guys are officers of the peace; they are not in the business of selling a piece,” said Arnie Arnesen, a radio talk-show host in Concord, N.H., who pitched the idea of melting the guns into jewelry. “That’s not their job. They have a different role in society. Selling guns doesn’t make sense.”

Arnie could be Rosa DeLauro's twin sister...no, that is NOT a compliment. Arnie is another in a long line of NY transplants that has absolutely ruined Red Hampshire.

People so misuse that “ beat into plow shares” verse to justify passivity against evil.(I’m not saying you are Jaxter).

People will only be able to beat their swords into plowshares only when there is the benevolent Rule of Christ upon the Earth. Only when there is the universal consciousness and knowledge of “the GLORY OF THE LORD” that fills the whole Earth as “waters cover the sea”, will there be the safety and security necessary in the putting aside of all war and violence.

Thus in our present time, sure we must try to pursue peace “with our neighbors, IF AT ALL POSSIBLE” as the apostle Paul said but some conflict will be inevitable.

Now its time for a major manufacturer to come out with a Leno look-a-like, with the byline, "Melt all you want ... we'll make more."

Exactly. These people give irrational responses. It is as if they think there are only so many guns in the universe, and if you destroy one, there will be one less gun in the universe.

This, when manufactures are working around the clock, producing millions of more guns every month, the number of guns in the nation is at an all time high, and the Supreme court has ruled that you have a Constitutional right to have loaded, unlocked guns in your house for self defense.

It is laughable, but when you point this out, they say, “But you have to start somewhere!”

And these are the same people who say it will take ten years to make "Drill baby Drill" pay off.

There are many of the uninformed, emotional masses that are sure that each and every gun, even each and every bullet, are sure to end a life. In their minds, every gun taken “off the street” is certain evidence that a life was saved. I remember reading a British article about a revolver that was found in a man’s drawer with six rounds of ammo. The neighbors were shocked that this amount of destructive power had lurked right next door. The police gravely stated that it was six murders prevented, right there.
