A Miami-Dade police officer was stabbed in the back and in the chest outside Dallas, Texas while transporting a prisoner back to Las Vegas, Dallas television station CBS 11 is reporting.
A manhunt for the escaped prisoner is taking place.

If you assume the guy was cleaned before the trip, it was probably a BIC pen or some type of pencil.

Seems strange. Why is a Fl. cop taking a prisoner from Tx. to Las Vegas instead of back to Fl?
My guess is he was transporting him from FL to NV, and TX happens to be between those two states (about halfway).
If we took every bread and butter knife from law biding citizens this would never have happened... /s
Radio report at 9 AM here in Reno market said he broke his glasses & used the ear piece to stab the officer.
