There have been 65,376,373 background checks completed for Americans purchasing firearms since February of 2009, the first full month of Barack Obama's presidency.

According to data compiled by the FBI, the number of Americans purchasing guns has skyrocketed since Obama was elected.

In 2009, there were 13,984,953 background checks for Americans buying firearms. If we subtract the 1,212,860 checks completed in the month of January, the total checks for the year under Obama were 12,772,090.

For 2010, background checks totaled 14,320,489. In 2011, checks were 16,336,732, and in 2012, 19,463,832. Background checks for the month of January 2013 were 2,483,230.

This totals 65,376,373 background checks completed since President Obama's first full month in office, or 44,748 background checks per day!

By comparison, the number of gun purchases in Obama's first term is 91.1% higher than President George W. Bush's first-term total of 34,214,066 background checks.

“...is to have Obama resign.”

Why can’t our glorious leader now top the Pope? The Pope resigned and now Obama can out do the Pope’s lead and resign and go one step further, leave -— leave for another planet.

Still far outpaced by OHS buying all that ammunition though.

I suspect cities tagged with 'joint exercises' will contribute the personnel to shoot that obscene quantity of ammo...

Since dems partner with criminals and/or minorities my guess is Hispanics from the Miami police force will be part of 'the team'. What other cities had joint exercises with police and military working together? Anyone know the military leaders doing these joint exercises? Are they the same people?

I don’t like buying ammo on-line, the shipping costs bother me and I prefer to make my own. I may be forced to soon though.

Actually, I just visited their web page. The shipping costs aren’t that bad, and the price is pretty good for that Greek stuff. Thanks

That doesn’t count additional millions bought at gun shows and other private sales. This population is armed to the teeth. It must stay that way.

I feel like a slacker. I haven’t purchased a firearm in years. (After the 2008 election, I stocked up on powder and primers).

I’m making a commitment to buy at least three handguns in 2013!

Ditto here in Knoxville, TN. No bricks available at all. Right now my range is selling each 50 rd. box of long rifle rounds for $10.00, 20 cents a round.

Holy, crap! That’s 100 million transfers, many I am sure were new firearms. As another poster puts it, they ain’t buying because someone might ban them, they are buying them because they believe they will need them.

People voted with their wallets and told Dear Leader what they think of his efforts to take away their method of self-protection.

Consider secret vaults built within a wall or under a closet floor. ;>)

I am working on that right now.

Another thing to remember is that guns are very durable. With care, a gun will last a century or more. I bought all I think I'll need by the end of the Clinton presidency.

Yep. As you may recall, part of the Cloward-Piven strategy was to “overwhelm the system”. I find it ironic that we gun owners and purchasers are now doing a very good job of that.

Same here. We still buy when new models come out that we like, like the Ruger LCP.

I’ll wager than 80% of the people who purchase a firearm already have 3-10 in the closet.

More than you think have several dozen or more than a hundred.

Lot’s of community organizers out there, ready to go.

Another story from the good old days (the late '80s) when a BRICK of 22 LR went for $9.20.

A brick of target/subsonic went for a little under $12.00.
