-snip-

"I mean, it's horrible. There's no running water. There's no power. They are having to use the restroom in buckets and bags."

"It's like a bunch of savages on there," he added. "If you get on the blogs, they're saying that people are fighting over food and stuff."

Toby Barlow told CNN that his wife, Ann, a passenger on the ship, texted that the plumbing failed and people were defecating in bags and urinating in showers.

She also told him there's "sewage running down the walls and floors," he said.

Sounds like Staten Island after hurricane Sandy.

I have to laugh. I see those cruise sh!ts as I call them as floating sewage tanks. The output of all those tourists gorging on all-you-can-eat buffets must be stupendous.

Before the number of the damn things visiting Hawaii dropped off, you would see miles long streams of brown sludge offshore. I was convinced it was those damn ships dumping sewage.

“Thanks for the support....:)”

You're welcome. Can't stand pushy/nasty newbies. When I joined those years ago, I kept my head down until Freepers got to know me. In those days, Freepers would take a newbies head off if you weren't respectful.

I went on one cruise years ago and would NEVER get on another ship. My husband's company, insurance company, filled that ship with company people and high selling insurance agents, to leave Miami and go to Nassau, then to an island the ship owned, then back to Miami. I don't know the name of the ship company.

When the ship had to cross the gulf stream not long after we left shore, the pitching movement caused almost everyone aboard to get nauseated and throw up. We had gone to the dining area when it hit us. We left the dining area to go back to stateroom. On the way to the room, people were throwing up in stationary ash trays, or just on the floor. It was horrible. After we got in room, husband threw up but I just stayed horribly nauseated.

About 7 am next morning, we were still sick, but an announcement came on waking us up, telling us to go to the deck for life saving instruction. Both of us did not go - we thought it was more likely we would faint/fall and kill ourselves than having to go overboard.

We were too sick to eat and ate nothing until we got to Nassau. We were so glad to get off that ship onto ground. We were able to eat breakfast on shore and keep it down. Some of our group left the ship then and took a plane back to the US. We made it back to Miami on the ship without getting sick again - didn't go through that turbulence again. After we were sick, I found out it was the gulf stream that caused that but we were not told that would happen nor were we told they had sea sickness pills they could give us.

Never again will I turn my body over to a freaking ship.

So the part of the story that says full refund and another free cruise in the future is bogus?

How in the world do you prep for a cruise? Maybe by not going on one?

I bet there will be a crowd of lawyers waiting to greet the passengers when they reach port. Not that I would blame them...I would want to bring a huge lawsuit against Carnival if I had to endure that hell on the high seas.

Maritime law is considerably different from American ambulance chaser law.

Amen. With their track record, it’s a wonder they’re still in business.

Know how you feel. Mentioned earlier that I got norovirus on a cruise. Miserable to say the least.

Never again...

“Mentioned earlier that I got norovirus on a cruise. Miserable to say the least.”

And when you're sick, you still can't get off that ship. We were so sick and felt like prisoners in that small room.

There is no way to make a ship medically clean. All those passengers are touching surfaces everywhere you go, including the dining rooms. One passenger with bacterial germs or a virus can infect the whole ship fast - then you are sick and can't call your doctor, can't go to your doctor, can't use your own over the counter measures to help yourself, you are just stuck.

Why that speaker didn't come on and say there was medicine available, I don't know. The freaking speaker came on at 7 am every day telling of various activities. If I had a grenade I would have set it on top of the speaker with the pin out and walked out of the room until the speaker was silenced, then gone back to bed to sleep - that's how much I hated that speaker.
