(snip) REP. STENY HOYER (D-MD), HOUSE MINORITY WHIP: Does the country have a spending problem? The country has a paying for problem. We haven't paid for what we bought, we haven't paid for our tax cuts, we haven't paid for war.

"Amazing this guy can hoodwink enough voters in MD to be a senator."

His district is right between the Federal trough and the squealing oinkers who feed from same on the MD. side of DC.

Those leeches love it when their politicians talk like this.

(BTW: He's not a Senator, he's in the House.)

The country has an elected representative problem; they no longer represent.

Au contraire, mon FRier, the big spenders in DC DO represent the majority that voted for them. That majority DEMANDS that their needs be met by government no matter what method of force be used to satisfy those needs.
The real problem the government has is with the folk who produce that are wide awake, innovative, creative and agile enough to keep the government from extracting more than WE believe is their ‘fair share’. We’ve done this before. FDR was angry that his massive tax increases did not produce the increase in revenue.

“Anyone may arrange his affairs so that his taxes shall be as low as
possible; he is not bound to choose that pattern which best pays the
treasury. There is not even a patriotic duty to increase one’s taxes.
Over and over again the Courts have said that there is nothing sinister
in so arranging affairs as to keep taxes as low as possible. EveryoneQuote by: Judge Learned Hand

does it, rich and poor alike and all do right, for nobody owes any
public duty to pay more than the law demands.”

How could a sane populace elect someone named Steny Hoyer?
The stupidest person on the planet intuitively knows that it is impossible for someone named Steny Hoyer to have made it through primary and secondary schools with an intact psyche.

The last budget Bush and a GOP Congress passed resulted in a deficit of $137 Billion. That included two wars, years of tax cuts, and prescription drug coverage. Sorry Denny, you have no credibility on any spending issue.

“Paying Problem”, “Deficit Problem” = Liberal code words ofr “We Tax & Spend Democrats want more tax increases”.

I’d like to think all these idiotic statements coming from the left would cost them votes, but it seems that the dumb are inspired by these people.
