Have you ever heard Rubio speak? He’s one of the best speakers - in English - that I have ever heard. He’s eloquent, intelligent, conservative and persuasive.

There’s nothing wrong with having him add something in Spanish, because Hispanic immigrants are a big part of our voting bloc and would, given their druthers, go with the conservative project since the whole reason they came here was to escape countries that were either Marxist dictatorships or were dysfunctional oligarchies, where nobody ever had a chance at independent wealth creation.

Of course, Obama is destroying that before our very eyes. And you want to complain because somebody is explaining it in Spanish to our largest immigrant bloc, who could probably get rid of Obama single-handedly?

Most of them speak English, btw; this is a gesture to get them on our side and off the Dem side, because the Dems make themselves the “champion of the immigrants,” meaning they want to put all immigrants and non-immigrants on government benefits, but that’s not why Latin Americans came here. They want to be independent - and wealthy. Not slaves of the government, like the black “community.”

I don’t mind Rubio speaking Spanish and don’t see it as pandering. It’s the language of his family for Pete’s sake. If he were some Anglo Harvard Grad that visited Mexico/Cuba for vacation or a 6 month internship and was speaking Spanish just to show off, that would be pandering.

Hispanics voted 71%-27% for Obama. Among 18-29 voters Hispanics voted 74%-23%.

With out of wedlock birth rates of 50% and the highest school dropout rates of any group, Hispanics are a natural Dem constituency.

You are so right. The spanish speaking person is by culture and religion family oriented, (have you ever seen a Hispanic family on a shopping trip to a store...there's mom and dad, and grandma and the kids.) They believe in God, are ambitious and believe in education and want to achieve what you and I desire as well: to be free to earn a education and employment in order to support their family. This does not speak for every spanish speaking person, OF COURSE. But here in Chicago they, and I am referring to legal citizens of Hispanic origin, are educated, own businesses, their own homes and are contributing members of their communities.

I know that obozo will not agree to any part of the immigration reform that Marco Rubio and the Republicans/Conservatives are proposing, and Marco Rubio said he will not sign on to anything that obozo proposes that does not state that the border fencing will be completely finished before any bill will be signed. Bottom line, obozo has to go b/4 we can discuss this bill further. There will be no progress until obozo is removed from office. And, yes, livius, you are so right in that the Hispanic is bypassing the black man in terms of ambition and desire to work hard to achieve the American dream. It is the Hispanic who owns the many businesses that are thriving, his kids are going to school...you do have Hispanic crime and gangs, BUT,on the whole, the Hispanic family, the Hispanic business community outnumbers, outperforms the black family in all areas of achievement.
