For Rubio, Defense Is the Preferred Offense
Big Government ^ | February 12, 2013 | Mike Flynn

FL Sen. Marco Rubio gave the GOP response to President Obama's State of the Union address. Now, delivering the opposing party response to a SOTU address is a very difficult task. The President speaks before the assembled chambers of Congress. The responder speaks to a camera in some unrecognized office. That said, the response does allow the opposing party to lay out a governing position for the American public. Unfortunately, Rubio used his time mostly to deflect attacks made by Obama. A prevent defense can work in sports, but rarely in politics.

Per the internet, the MSM were fixating on the fact he took a drink of water during his speech; it allowed them to avoid paying attention to what he said.

Bread and circuses.

Well, it was HeeLarryUs.

I mean, who does that? LOL

I Like Marco and believe he will be a relevant voice somewhere between Conservative and Republican.

I’ve done plenty of public speaking. He and his adviosors set him up to screw up.

No one’s fault but, a dry spot turned into a desperate moment that didn’t need happen.

Mental game, that everyone programmed.

Next time, put the Agua right in front of you.

Looked like a desperate gasp for scuba gear, if only to live.

Berry punny....

That’s why Rubio could never win a Presidential race. He isn’t agressive enough.

Rubio touching his face with 1 finger both hands at least 3 times, and then the bend-and-lean WAY to his left for the water - ridiculous.
The Jindal thing all over again!
It felt to me it was destined to happen! Unbelievable/but believable!
Knew this would be the talk in the aftermath . .
Appearance counts.
He needs way more TV coaching.

Rubio did just fine.

I would say he is a potential GOP leader. A few bugs, but overall very good.

Nice job Rubio. Now can we please get Palin involved?

Yes, Rubio gave a fine speech.
The visuals are mocked, out-pacing the speech, in some quarters.
The first touch he did to his face - oh my gosh - nooooh! -
I was hoping that gesture would be the only one, but unfortunately, not so . . .

He is leader material.
And eligible for much T.V. coaching.

Get Palin involved - ?
You betcha!

‘Shouduh spray his mouth with “Clorasepetic” before hand.’

Possibly - he needs to be taught/coached about things like that.
