CBS ^

Posted on 02/13/2013 9:44:17 AM PST by chessplayer

In the official GOP rebuttal to President Obama's State of the Union speech Tuesday, Republican Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., made a passionate case for the limited role of government in American society. But the gist of his message was lost on the Twittersphere about 11 minutes in, when the visibly overheated senator broke away for a quick sip of water.

The only voters who will EVER be swayed by anything are the independents.

I am one who still believes the election of 2012 was stolen by voter fraud.

Besides the fact he can never be POTUS since he is not a Natural Born US Citizen due to his parents not being US citizens when he was born.

I love The Young Cons. One of my favorites on Twitter. I can’t remember disagreeing with them on anything. Those two would be a great choice for a conservative single woman. ;) I guess she would have to choose just one of them though, LOL.

It may be all they've got, but it's enough to sway the low-information voter

The low information voter was watching The Bachelor or similar puffery last night and they certainly don't tune into CBS news.

So only people who have their minds made up already will even be aware that this happened.

Who knows how far Rubio will go, but I do know that he is quick on his feet, articulates conservative issues very well, has a compelling personal story, and has a humble sincerity that will reach through the media filter.

That's why the left is desperate to destroy him and any higher aspirations he may have - the sooner the better.

Even if a conservative person wouldn't really support him for President, he/she should stand with him against the forces of evil.

Thanks for Hillary’s talking points. You and Mont gage813 are such a delight. Rubio is a very real threat to the left not just for 2016 but for a generation. You should be worried.

"beyond stupid"

I think the country has collectively lost its marbles. Over at DummyUnderground they were beside themselves about the fact that Rubio TOOK A DRINK OF WATER!!! Why, how horrible!!!! He might as well have pushed granny in the wheelchair over a cliff. It's one of those things where you want to ask the people aghast at Rubio taking a sip of water if they're seriously deranged. You know the answer to that question. Needless to say if Republicans had been as apoplectic about Obama taking a drink of whatever, they would have screamed RACISM!!!!!!!

What a great way to divert attention away from the Kenyan’s “Mein Kampf” agenda. Ridicule Rubio for drinking some water. It works with the blithering idiots and morons infesting this country every time. I’ve seen people drink water so many times over my 63 years that I don’t find it “hilarious” anymore. I guess that comes with growing up.

The MSM has given more coverage of a Senator sipping water than the president’s whereabouts during the Benghazi attack.

Marco Rubio's "water bottle-gate" moment

I am not as easy on these MSM morons as Rubio is. If it had been me, I would have been extrememly confrontational, and told these clowns to put it where the sun don't shine. I bet that would fire up the conservative base.

Obviously Rubio has watched too many Dos Equis commercials.

According to Fox & Friends this morning, he gave an 18-minute version of the speech in Spanish first. Maybe he should have taken a drink of water before starting the English version...or maybe he did and still became thirsty.

Who cares if he took a drink of water?! He was thirsty. The MSM are a pile of morons. If it had been Obama they would have wondered if it was holy water.

If it had been Obama they would have wondered if it was holy water.

This from Keith Koffler last week:

A few days ago, following Obama at the podium, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney found that Obama had left his glass of water at the podium. Instead of having it removed, he left it, mentioning something about its potentially empowering effects.

The problem is the “dumb masses” they just flat out don’t get it. They are at this very moment making statements like “OMG didja see that . . . he took a drink of water right there in the middle of talking”. God help the USA. Our nation, bless it’s heart, is way f’ed up. Thank you RATs . . . you own this f’d up mess, you have no one else to place the blame on. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
