Billionaire businessman Donald Trump has nothing but praise for the tea party.

“I am a Republican, but I believe strongly in the tea party — and I love the people of the tea party,” Trump told WPTV-News Channel 5 on Thursday during the Palm Beach County Republican Lincoln Day Dinner. “I love many of the things they represent — and you know what? They love me...

I am telling you, she may have raised some money for him to keep him in the race but it was Texans that elected him.

Last I saw, Sarah’s address was in Alaska.
Oh she bought a property in Maricopa Co Az that would have allowed her to run for Jon Kyl’s Senate seat, but she never ran.
Now Jeff Flake has the Senate seat.
He could have stayed in the congress but apparently Sarah let him have it as she thinks he will do a better job there than she would.
Now David Schweikert R has replaced Flake.
Time will tell the tale.

Trump isn’t conservative, he is a self serving promoter, who is probably closer to a social liberal, or “libertarian”.

I agree.

I also think if Donald Trump had run for President and actually won he’d probably have quit the job by now.

I think Michelle Bachmann’s only value is as a congresswoman, she will never lead anything being something of a weak poser with no real identity or creativity, or leadership, but I did think that the general public identified her as a prominent tea party face.

I would be surprised if in polling, the public didn’t connect Bachmann with the tea party way over Trump when put head to head.

I would LOVE for Sarah Palin to be the leader and spokesperson for the Tea Party and I would LOVE for her to start right now her run for President as a third party (Tea Party) candidate to scare the HECK out of the GOPe and I would have LOVED if she had run for President in 2012.

What I would LOVE and what she actually desires may be two different things.

I already fell for the Palin people telling us last year, “be patient, Sarah’s just waiting for the right time to jump in the race. She’s a very smart woman. What she’s doing is allowing the other candidates to knock each other down and then it will be her time to join the last GOP Primary debate”

Well, it never happened. I must assume it will not happen. I must assume that she’s not going to take the lead in the Tea Party. If, in the end, she does. GREAT! I stand behind her.

I’m telling you Senator Cruz’s opinion, he credits Palin with his win, you have a different opinion from the man who won the race, that is OK.

Of course it was Texas republican primary voters that elected him, it was an election, but he credits her with getting him those votes.

Nonsense, that didn’t cost Bachmann anything, it was her moving against Palin and for Romney, and a steady display of incompetence, lack of leadership, judgement, and effectiveness, and even strength and substance, that did her in.

I am just saying her opinion had no sway on me in that election.

the tea party is a self-selected, self-generaled, group of American patriots whose goal is to restore the Constitution and whose leaders are our founders and no one else. these include men like bradford, winthrop, edwards, whitefield, franklin, madison, mason, henry and on and on. and yes the man who towers above them all: our greatest conservative leader George Washington. if you want the human embodiment of the defintion of Conservatism, Washington is it.

Sarah Palin is more experienced than this President we have now in his second term. She would have done wonders for this nation.

It was actually unfair to her and the conservative movement for some of her supporters to be telling everyone that she’s going to run in 2012, she’s just waiting for the right time.

Guess what. We stopped looking for a better candidate. We waited for Sarah and we got Romney.

Sadly, there are some who blame Sarah Palin for Obama winning. They claim she teased and teased about jumping in the race but in the end failed to deliver.

Well, it was not Sarah Palin who was teasing. She never said she was going to run.

I believe you, her influence, or any endorsers influence, is is winning over additional supporters and converts to a candidate’s already firm supporters and motivating those who might stay home, to turn out, and to generate donations and volunteers and so on.

That Palin does in spades, and the results of her campaigning with him led Cruz to credit her for his win.

We’re talking about Texas here. I mean, I cant see Texans voting against Ted Cruz unless Jesus Christ himself came down and endorsed the other candidate.

Perhaps, but I see her influence as a kingmaker waning.

there is leadership of the highest rank available, but only if you hear Him, as did apparently all the men i mentioned above.

the final victory is not in doubt. only the shape of it. my family and friends plan to be ready when the call comes. when and if it comes for other patriots, i shall be there supporting them.

but i know, any other kind of “leadership” (i can’t judge trump, i don’t really know who he is) leads directly to death.

may God bless you.

LOL, You can hope for such a defeat of conservatism for whatever twisted reasons you would hope for such a thing, conservatives want her influence as kingmaker to grow, we like Cruz.

“”Call it the Sarah Palin bounce: Hours after the 2008 vice presidential nominee endorsed Ted Cruz, a Republican candidate for U.S. senator from Texas, on Thursday morning, the staff at Cruz’s headquarters in Austin reported a swift and positive reaction.
Campaign manager John Drogin confirmed by email to Yahoo News that Palin’s endorsement “has added HUGE buzz to our campaign.”
“Phones are ringing, online contributions are pouring in, and supporters are more excited than ever on our social networks,” Drogin wrote, adding that he’s seen a “flood” of donations but has yet to tally them.””

“”Sarah Palin might have been sitting out this year’s Republican National Convention, but that does not mean that she has been forgotten by the party faithful in Tampa.
Especially not by Ted Cruz, who credits her endorsement with helping him beat Texas Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst in the race for the Texas GOP Senate nomination.
While speaking with POLITICO’s Mike Allen this morning, the Texas Republican Senate nominee called Palin’s endorsement “game-changing.”

“If you look at the senate races across the country this cycle and last cycle, Governor Palin has had a game changing impact one after the other,” explained Cruz. Palin endorsed Cruz, a Tea Party favorite who shares her philosophy of liberty and limited government, just days before a wide-open May 29 primary, helping to propel Cruz into a strong second place showing. The Cruz surge provided momentum for his runoff battle with Dewhurst.
(snip)
The Tea Party favorite admitted that many have referred to his victory as “improbable.” He told Allen that the reason why Palin’s endorsement has had such an enormous impact is because voters consider her a true barometer of conservatism.

“In a Republican primary, everyone claims to be conservative and voters are pretty cynical. They are tired of these candidates that sounds great on the stump. They say they are going to cut spending, they get into the office and they become spineless jellyfish,” Cruz said. “I think conservatives trust Sarah Palin that if she says this guy is a conservative, that he is a real deal.”””

ansel12, It’s politics. Sarah Palin has continued to credit John McCain for her position in the Republican Party. It’s politics.

Sarah Palin surely helped Ted Cruz, I mean she could not have hurt the man. They have very similar (perhaps identical positions) anybody that would listen to Sarah Palin would vote for Ted Cruz anyways ans we’re talking about Texas, not the State of Connecticut.

I do give Sarah Palin credit for the 2010 victory.

The challenge wasn’t winning the Senate race, it was defeating the sitting LT. Governor, endorsed and supported by Governor Perry and the entire Texas establishment and the national GOP.

When Sarah Palin endorsed John McCain in 2010 her supporters never were accused of “hoping for such a defeat of conservatism” by continuing to support her. Instead they said she was merely paying John McCain back for choosing her as his Vice-President in 2008.

Why do we not think maybe Ted Cruz is merely showing his appreciation for her standing behind him as McCain did in 2008?
