Sure, conservatives know that liberals want ever-bigger government. But the left is normally shy about its ambitions. Witness President Obama's laughable claim in this week's State of the Union: "It is not a bigger government we need, but a smarter government that sets priorities and invests in broad-based growth."
So there's something bracing about a liberal boldly, baldly, embracing bigger government. In his New York Times column of today entitled "The Real Obama", Charles Blow clearly sees through the president's misleading rhetoric. Blow knows what Obama is really afterand celebrates it: "Is this the real Barack Obama? I hope so. I like this one. The president used Tuesdays State of the Union address to detail a vision of Americas future, and his second term, in which the country is not in perpetual war, government plays an expansive role, Congressional obstruction is named and shamed and he is bold and unapologetically progressive" [emphasis added].

Not that it comes as any surprise . . . Ping to Today show list.
If for no other reason, I hope there’s another (conservative) Republican president in my lifetime so that the shoe will be on the left’s foot if he begins to enact an “executive presidency”, since the left is just fine with a Democrat doing so.
Rush covered it perfectly. Obama constantly campaigns against what he is actually doing and therefore seemingly can’t be blamed for the evil things that are happening. The press shields him dutifully.
The useful idiots are always the first to be eliminated. I hope this guy has his affairs in order.
He pretends he's not part of Washington, and therefore "not part of that evil world."
He campaigns as though he's an outsider, not the man in charge, so what happens in Washington is not directly connected to him in any way.
It's all THEIR fault...... because you're not suppose to notice he's the one who's driving the bus.
Ever since I can remember Democrats have run on the theme that forces not under their control are screwing their constituency. The Dem pol always makes the promise to his minions that he will right those wrongs. You will never have a Dem president who tells his voters that their problems are their own fault. It’s the evil Republicans, businessmen, bankers, old guy at the end of the street who won’t let you walk across his lawn who are keeping you down. That blame-somebody-else approach has worked well for the Dems.
I can never read the heading of a column by this man without thinking about how unfortunately, yet appropriately he is named.
Ministry of Truth.
Smarter government, with him LOL delusional on the march.
He must be back on the herbs again.
