The Dangerous Partnership Between Big Business and Government
RCM ^ | 02/14/2013 | Tom Borelli

President Obama's greatest strategic accomplishment during his first term was his recruitment of big business to join the existing collection of special interest groups within the Democratic Party.

The national impact of Obama's collusion with big business can't be overlooked. Big business helped deliver his biggest political achievement, ObamaCare, and it recently contributed to his victories with the fiscal cliff negotiations and the temporary extension of the debt ceiling.

The addition of huge corporate lobbying infrastructures to the existing left-wing coalition of unions, environmental activists, minority and feminist interest groups will fundamentally transform the special interest lobbying force in Washington. And as long as big business can profit from an expanding government, CEOs representing many corporations will support the progressive agenda of increased spending and government control over individual lives.

Last November, President Obama rallied leaders of big business to pressure Republicans to support his plan to avoid the fiscal cliff. After meeting with Obama's key big business allies, General Electric CEO Jeff Immelt became a visible spokesperson for his goal of raising taxes.

During a December 2012 interview on "CBS This Morning" on the fiscal cliff, Jeff Immelt said, "We need revenue, everybody knows we need revenue..." and he added, "...Speaker Boehner is the only guy who can lead us in that... He's gotta take the heat and I trust that he can do it."

Immelt was not alone. The Business Round Table - a trade group - supported tax increases to raise government revenue and the group also wanted to avoid a fight over the debt ceiling.

PSSST... WANNA KNOW WHY OBAMA IS PUSHING FOR WIND POWER BIG TIME?

Tim Carney of the Washington Examiner reported shortly after the late night deal-making that General Electric was the big winner in the "compromise," which included $76 billion in tax credits for business special interests.

According to Carney, the White House demanded that The Family and Business Tax Cut Certainty Act of 2012 - a Senate bill filled with corporate tax breaks - be included in the fiscal cliff legislation.

General Electric's wind turbine business will certainly benefit from the $12 billion extension of the wind production tax credit, and the addition of a $9 billion "active financing exception" provision that allows multinational companies to avoid paying U.S. taxes by keeping profits on financial transactions overseas.

Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley among others will also benefit from the financing exception terms. Hollywood, green energy companies and NASCAR will profit from other corrupt elements in the last-minute additions to the fiscal cliff deal.

The left has a weird view of fascism.
They see it as business corrupting their precious government.

It’s the opposite - it’s government using businesses to do their dirty work and control the people in a less obvious way than a pure socialist model.

The left clings to the definition of socialism to deny that they and Barky are socialists. They’re right, in a way - the way Barky’s doing it is more akin to fascism.

Big businesses supporting Democrats is nothing new.

General Electric is a new world order company; they were one of the companies that helped build up the Nazi regime in Germany.

Obama didn’t “recruit” anyone to his aid; he is simply the latest in a long line of Presidents going back to Wilson that to one extent or another were under the influence of new world order tactics. Obama is one, like Wilson, that was completely fabricated by new world order interests.

Business and government have always been bedfellows; once our first Constitution was rendered useless by the secret ConCon of 1788 and its new sop in place, it was like going from separate rooms/twin beds to one big comfy four-poster!

Nobody ever caught on and/or did anything about things-—evil unattended just sorta mushrooms, though it takes a while to blossom into its full bloom—just stand by, The Closer (fly-ridden as he may be) is now on the scene!

Semper Semper!

Wouldn’t get much reaction with that term from your typical ‘Progressive’ on the street. Mussolini’s term ‘Corporatism’ would have better effect. The Left HATES Corporations. (Yet, the Latin root ‘Corporis’, body could be used for many organization. Go figure.)

Certain globalist/monopolist big businesses financed and traded with the USSR; Wall Street financed the Bolshevik revolution.

Communism is a globalist movement. Consequently, both globalists and communists (their political front) hate any expression of nationalism. They’ve come up with the term fascist as a derogatory term with which to brand anyone who expresses strong nationalism or hatred of communism. Of course, totalitarianism is the ideology that is actually evil; there are simply two categories of totalitarian ideologies, nationalist and international (communism). Nationalism without totalitarianism, e.g., a nationalist republic ideology (like America started out as), can certainly be a decent governmental model. Communists and their globalist masters both consistently brand even those nationalist ideas as fascist, from the moment the movement says anything negative about communism or globalism. Ergo, their continual propaganda that the Tea Party is fascist. Of course, the fact that the mainstream media pushes the same propaganda simply proves that globalism controls their boards of directors, since their boards certainly are not filled with a majority of communists.

Incidentally, Nazi Germany was made possible by new world order types, or what we call today globalists. Hitler secured business and banking connections in America and the UK that he thought would back him in a takeover of Eastern Europe and going up against the USSR. Little did he know that he was dealing with the same folks who financed the USSR; globalist finance. A key part of deluding Hitler, IMHO, was Henry Ford’s Dearborn Independent, the writings in which, IMHO, were designed to provide assurance to Hitler (who was well aware of the writings) that American capitalists could be trusted to be on his side. IMHO, super-wealthy businessmen never make statements publicly unless they have a purpose to them; the fact that they made it through the maze of competition to make it to the top is proof enough that they’re smart enough to avoid idiotic blunders. Once the American branch of globalism convinced Hitler that they were on his side, I’ve found no record of him ever suspecting that he had been set up by the interests that brought him some of his key war technology along with significant investment in the three major German cartels of the day.

Globalist new world order types are monopolists at heart and they are simply seeking the ultimate monopoly - ruling from behind the veil of a puppet government.

As Hitler and his Nazism were totalitiarian, he was the “globalists” kind of guy. What they saw in him, however, was not a puppet, but a man with visions of expanding his nation. This made him a great candidate for initiating a war, which is the greatest opportunity for globalists to advance their agenda (war being the primary cause of wholesale changes to national boundaries and the geopolitical balance of power). Of course, during and after the war, companies and investment banks under globalists’ control can be slid into extremely profitable positions regarding the prosecution of the war as well as the post-war rebuilding processes - if the globalist takes the initiative to get men slid into advisor positions at the highest levels of the governments involved.

I concur w/ your title.

“Fascism should rightly be called Corporatism, as it is the merger of corporate and government power.”
— Benito Mussolini

“Fascism is capitalism in decay.”
— Vladimir Lenin

The Left HATES Corporations.

The left pretends to hate corporations. The left created corporations. Their goal is to have corporations gobble up the little guys, and then nationalize the corporations. Then you have socialism - overnight!
