>> So Napoleon Harris voted for it? As did every other black Democrat? Boy, black Democrats sure have done a 180 on the issue after Obama came out in favor of same-sex marriage. <<

Well the black Democrat politicians anyway (if Obama supports it, it MUST be good!). Six black Democrat pastors from Chicago testified against the bill and said they would urge their congregations to stay home if the RATs passed this bill. ( http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2013/01/07/black-ministers-urge-illinois-lawmakers-to-vote-down-same-sex-marriage/ ) RATs say its an idle threat.

Black RAT State Sen. James Meeks was vehemently against gay marriage, but he's no longer in office (don't know if he's still vehemently against gay marriage either, I never trusted the guy since he's Jesse Jackson Sr.'s right hand man at Rainbow-PUSH)

>> It is embarrassing that the only Dems to vote to preserve traditional marriage were three culturally conservative Senators from Downstate (representing seats that the RATs have no business holding). Not even a state senator from the Polish-Irish-Italian neighborhoods of Chicago (Lipinski Country)? <<

My newly elected RAT State Senator (Bill Cunningham of Chicago) represents a large chunk of Lipinski's turf, and ran as a supposedly "pro-life, socially conservative" RAT. His GOP opponent Dr. Bellar essentially said he was full of crap and not really pro-life because he voted against cutting off funding for abortion when he was a state Rep. I also figured Cunningham would sell out on this. I'm even more disappointed with the previous, outgoing RAT state Senator, since he actually DID vote pretty reliably "conservative" on social issues and was Vice Principal of a Catholic H.S., but he also caved on gay marriage during the initial vote of the lame duck session. Hard to believe that a little over a decade ago, this district was represented by one of the most conservative state Senators, Republican Patrick O'Malley (represented IL-18 from 1993-2003). Oh, how Illinois has fallen.

I do think the Mark Kirk wing of the GOP is just emboldening the RATs to move further leftward on social issues, since they're making it socially acceptable to vote like Jan Schakowsky on social issues and claim to be "thoughtful and socially moderate" when they're supporting garbage like abortion for gender selection. The mainstream media is happy to vouch for them. And don't forget our RINO combiner "Republican" Party Chairman actually actively lobbied the State legislature to vote FOR gay marriage. He got an even bigger slap down than Cameron did in the UK, since so far only 1 Republican has sided with the RINO chairman.

>> And Barickman should be targeted for defeat in the GOP primary. <<

He should, Shane Cultra was the real conservative in that race but was unfortunately redistricted in with phony conservative Barickman. I heard he's not up for re-election until 2017 at the earliest though. This punk is a textbook example why we need REAL recall laws in Illinois. The weird thing is RINOs considerably worse than Barickman voted the right way on this one.

IL has RINO state senators who voted against gender-selection abortions? I didn’t know that Justin Amash was in the IL state senate.

As for recall elections, you really, really don’t want to adopt that monstrosity. You’re assuming that it will be used solely to recall corrupt officers or those who backstabbed their constituents, but look at what happened in WI.
