The entirety of Patterson's comments have not been uploaded yet, but in his discussion with Evan Smith today, Patterson came out in support of a statewide property tax to replace the "byzantine" tax structure that currently exists with the property tax cap and over a thousand taxing districts.

Personally, I think Patterson is right. A simplified tax structure will help tax payers and possibly keep the state out of court for the foreseeable future.

Unfortunately, he will probably tax a lot of heat for his support for a statewide property tax.

Find some other way to fix the tax problem but if Patterson gets behind a State income tax then he can just KMA and I will make it a point to vote for anybody but him should he run for statewide office. I’ve liked him in the past but this is just too important an issue to me for me to just accept it just because he happens to like it.
