INKSTER, Mich. (WJBK) -
There is a manhunt underway after a gun slinging couple stormed into a tax preparation business. A security guard was shot and the dangerous duo is on the run.
"Just seeing that footage and knowing that it's two doors down, yeah, I have to get out of here immediately. It's time to go," said Lillie Heard.
She saw the chilling video of the shootout just two doors down from her home on Kean Street in Inkster. The house there has been converted into a tax preparation service. At 2:30 p.m. Thursday, even though a security vehicle was parked in the driveway, Bonnie and Clyde showed up to announce a holdup, but what they didn't know was they were about to get an AR-15 surprise.
The armed couple both had handguns. Surveillance video shows them being greeted at the door by the receptionist. The business owner was sitting in a chair against the wall. The bad guy pointed his gun at the receptionist's head. The security guard in the office pulled out an AR-15 rifle. After the shootout, the security guard lunged to the door.
"The security guard that was inside returned fire, two shots at the suspect. Did not hit him. The suspects then fled the location," said Inkster Police Detective Lieutenant Jeffrey Smith.

who the hell tries to rob a tx prep buisness? geez
So does a .12 gauge shotgun loaded with .00 buckshot. If the security guard had one of those that bad guy framed in the doorway never would have left that house. At least not vertical.
Inkster. In the words of Robert Plant. “Worse than Detroit.”

Yep, if I was in an outdoor firefight I would choose the AR, but in indoor close quarters combat, give me a good tactical combat shotgun any day.
Great that the perps didn’t get any money and the business owners didn’t get hurt..
But, the security guard needs more “gun control”. Two shots at fairly close range? I agree a shotgun would have been a better weapons choice.
guns are proper defense weapons
He was able to unsling his rifle and return fire while under fire. He repelled the attack against a numerically superior force and advanced to take cover behind the front door (which is probably steel). He was wounded the entire time. I think he did just fine.
Indeed. Do they think the tax people have big sacks of cash with dollar signs on them for “instant refunds”?
The bad guys probably intended to file for the loot electronically.
A bag of cash/jewelry would’ve arrived in the mail in 4-6 weeks.
Identity theft?
Hey you, give me your name!
“Identity theft?’
i guess it could be, but from what i could tell those two didn’t look smart enough to run an id theft scam. just my 2 cent
A Tax Preparation place? What, weren’t there any liquor stores nearby that they could rob?
My guess is this is one of those places where they pay you 75% (a guess) of your refund on the spot in cash, then they get your refund check and pocket the difference. That means they have a lot of cash on location.
