The State Department will have to stop humanitarian aid to millions of people, cut foreign assistance to Israel, and delay efforts to ramp up diplomatic security abroad after the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi, if sequestration goes into effect next month, according to Secretary of State John Kerry.
At the beginning of March, across-the-board cuts to all discretionary spending accounts will go into effect, based on the 2011 Budget Control Act and the failure of the "supercommittee" to agree upon discretionary budget cuts in 2012. Congressional appropriators are planning to reorganize those cuts when the continuing resolution that has been temporarily funding the government expires at the end of March, a GOP Congressman told The Cable.
Until then, State and USAID are working on how to adjust to the impending new budget reality and Kerry is warning that the consequences will be severe.
[snip] These cuts would severely impair our efforts to enhance the security of U.S. government facilities overseas and ensure the safety of the thousands of U.S. diplomats serving the American people abroad," Kerry wrote.

Stopping aid to Egypt should have been done weeks ago...some of the humanitarian aid is piggy backed and overloaded with social workers who do little...cut back there....our Department of State could do with some house cleaning and cut backs of labor leaving plenty of $$ to protect our foreign embassy's. Kerry is blowing smoke......

USAID ought to be shut down completely. They are the ones who brought us thousands of somalis as refugees and now are just plain trouble.

If they cut humanitarian aid bet Obama increases immigration quotas from those nations just so he can continue feeding them.
So he points out Israel but not the terrorist nations.... hmmm
Cut all foreign aid of any kind. These countries should be kissing our A$$. Instead they demand money and then complain about the USA. Let them starve. Let them kill each other. I’m tired of paying for it. Same domestically, also. Everyone that can work should be working. Make Obama own the whole thing. Who cares how the MSM exploits the situation. Our Gov’t needs a complete cleanup both socially and financially.
These politicians cry like babies when they are faced with not having enough of our money to give away to make themselves look good to the world audience. Sorry you hack. There is no more money. Tell your friends in those third world countries that we are have an minor economic crisis here. That as soon as we payoff our debt we’ll gladly take a look at what is left. But, we may have another entitlement program or two to fund. Sorry.
