Gun Companies to Law Enforcement in Anti-Gun States: We’re Not Doing Business With You Anymore

As the gun control debate rages on, we’ve seen a host of gun-rights advocates standing up for the Second Amendment. In addition to citizens, the NRA, the National Sheriffs Association and countless others, a number of companies—including gun manufacturers, sporting good retailers and gunsmiths—are now taking a stand by refusing to sell to law enforcement in New York and other states with restrictive gun laws.

The message in these companies’ statements is essentially about equality—local law enforcement and government agencies should not have rights that citizens do not. Thus, if states such as New York choose to adopt restrictive gun laws and exempt law enforcement from those laws, the companies will no longer serve them as customers. Breitbart compiled a list of the statements:

LaRue Tactical

Effective today, in an effort to see that no legal mistakes are made by LaRue Tactical and/or its employees, we will apply all current State and Local Laws (as applied to civilians) to state and local law enforcement / government agencies. In other words, LaRue Tactical will limit all sales to what law-abiding citizens residing in their districts can purchase or possess.

Olympic Arms

Due the passing of this legislation, Olympic Arms would like to announce that the State of New York, any Law Enforcement Departments, Law Enforcement Officers, First Responders within the State of New York, or any New York State government entity or employee of such an entity - will no longer be served as customers.

In short, Olympic Arms will no longer be doing business with the State of New York or any governmental entity or employee of such governmental entity within the State of New York -

Of course, there are some big names missing—Smith & Wesson, Glock and Sig Sauer, which as The Blaze points out, are the “trio of manufacturers recommended by the NYPD for use by their officers.” Gun rights groups are urging their supporters to pressure these companies into joining the others in protest.

I’d imagine the years leading up to and including 1775, and probably thru the war of 1812, very few, if any, American weapons were sold to King George.

Maybe if those 3 companies realized they’d lose their business in the other 56 (lol) states, they’d realize it’s very short-sighted to clamor for all the marbles in NY.

The obvious work-around will be for local law-enforcement specialty gun shops (the places that need to see a uniform or badge before buzzing you inside, often not listed as gun dealers in telephone listings) to purchase the firearms, then sell them to the local police departments, county sheriffs, etc., at a profit. Remember also that long guns can be purchased across state lines.

Manufacturers need to expand this policy to refuse repair work (especially warranty repairs) on any of their products stamped with a law-enforcement "property of" marking from the offending jurisdictions.

This won't shut out the offending states completely, but it'll make it more expensive for them to out-gun the citizenry.

It’s still a free country—for now—and we Americans may not be buying Government Motors’ Volts, but we are buying American guns and ammo.
Smith and Wessons’ sales are good now and they might be even better if they had not collaborated with Clinton’s goons with the `94 AWB.
Glock, Sig Sauer, Sellier & Bellot—take a memo: Americans vote with their wallets.

Doesn’t matter. If the feds can’t get arms and ammo here, the chinese would be more than willing to supply them with what they need.

Did you actually believe the US is the only country that can manfacture weapons and ammo?

Do you think the federal government is going to let something like a boycott stop them from achieving their goals?

Tactically it might not do much, strategically it might shine a light on our nascent police state.

I would like to see Ammo producers stop selling ammo to federal law enforcement and to law enforcement in anti-constitutional states.

Send the Ammo to the rest of the states. I tried to buy some yesterday and couldn’t even get .22 long!!!

Deliver This Message
publicsafetysales@sigsauer.com, dgrier@smith-wesson.com, LE.info@glock.us

Suggested Subject: If it’s illegal for us, don’t sell it to police!

Dear Law Enforcement Sales Manager,
Recently New York rushed an ill-advised and unconstitutional law infringing on the rights of law-abiding gun owners.
Other states are poised to write similar laws. I urge you to follow the lead of LaRue Tactical which has adopted this policy:
If it can’t be sold to law-abiding citizens, it won’t be sold to state and local police agencies either.

There are 800,000 sworn police officers in the entire United States. The FBI reports a total of 2,495,440 NICS checks, and thus firearms sales, in January alone.

Police sales are not your major business. It’s time for firearm manufacturers to send a clear message that you will not participate in the slow erosion of our Second Amendment rights.

Signed,
A Concerned Gun Owner
