Police are investigating after a man who walked in on a pair of thieves burglarizing his home shot the suspects in Miami Friday.
The shooting happened at the home in the 500 block of Northwest 52nd Street, Miami Police spokeswoman Kenia Reyes said.
According to Reyes, the homeowner shot both suspects in the legs.
The suspects, Preston Pierre, 18, and Samuel Levy, 26, were taken to Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Unit with non life-threatening injuries, police said. They both face a charge of burglary with an assault therein and one count of unoccupied burglary.
"Absolutely, something that we're seeing that was quite cleaver from that homeowner is what he did was shoot them in the legs to immobiliez them. So, clearly, these two men, who have an extensive past for home invastion robberies, are behind bars today simply because the homeowner chose for them to have life and just immobilize them," said Kenia Reyes, spokeswoman for Miami Police.
Investigators found they had burglarized the adjacent unoccupied home at 551 Northwest 52nd Street.
It wasn't known if they had attorneys.
They will. "Medical expenses" and "pain and suffering" will have to be paid for by the homeowner.
Body Body Head....Leg shots are a bad idea. He is going to get sued.
My pistol range doesnt offer targets depicting legs. Must be a Florida thing. Center mass. It’s the only way to be sure.

Leg shots mean that the guy treated the trigger like a hand exercise device, squeezed too hard, and brought the barrel down when the gun fired. He’s lucky he hit them at all.
One of them could have gone down with a leg injury then pulled out a pistol. If he had I guarantee he wouldn’t have gone for the homeowner’s leg.

Maybe where you live (especially if in a blue state), but not in Florida. The homeowner there has absolutely nothing to worry about. His only mistake was not taking them out with a couple more rounds. If they’re in your home, you owe that to your community, since keeping these animals behind bars seems to be very difficult to do these days.

Two more pieces of human garbage the taxpayer will have to support until someone finally kills them.
Then he can kill the lawyer
Then he can kill the lawyer
poorly written opener...
Is it really too much to ask that SOME proofreading be done before publishing something? Or any at all?
I mean yeah, it's a given with a third-grader or summat as such, but a 'professional' writer with a 'professional' editor in a 'professional' publication? Really? I mean, next we'll be seeing writers publishing who don't understand the difference between 'lose' and 'loose'!
Oh, wait...
“poorly written opener.”
I thought “that was quite cleaver “
What I can't figure out is how the injuries were non-life-threatening. Usually, if you are shot in the Miami Friday, it's curtains...
hahaha! it needs to be cleaved...
Hit that femoral artery and they'd have bled out in seconds leaving a helluva mess to clean up.
