"Twenty-five more in four hours," Tanksley told his customer, who was secretly working for law enforcement and recording the conversation. "Give me $5,000 and you can put your order in then. I'll get you whatever, give me a list."

As Tanksley, who police say has ties to a Chicago street gang, made his sales pitch, David Lewisbey was stocking up on more weapons at a gun show 40 miles away in Crown Point, Ind., one of several trips he made across the state border and back in little more than a day, according to federal authorities

---ah, yes--the neighboring state" situation--

--something about some of those Chicagoans-- in spite of the law making it almost impossible for the law-abiding to own a gun, some of the population still get them through "entrepreneurship" of a sort---

Dear Chicago Times, your people are the very definition of sleaze and corruption.

Clean your toilet bowl of a Petri dish city and state before you open your Obamahole in judgement on others.

Yeah I thought of that story too. Seems to me that the feds are putting more guns in the hands of criminals than anyone.

Could someone please explain why this only seems to be a problem in Chicago and other area where the innocent are deprived of their right of self-defense?

IF it’s supposedly “Lax gun Laws” that does this, why doesn’t this happen elsewhere?

Why does this only happen in places where the government imposes draconian rules that deprive the innocent of their right of self-defense?

Take a look at the statistics – other cities don’t have nearly the problem with crime that Chicago has, AND they have neighboring states where the people can defend themselves.

The biggest problems that cities like Chicago have are the break-down of the family unit, the general decline of morals in the popular culture, and the thousands of gang members and less organized thugs who terrorize the people in their own communities. Joe Six-Pack from Indiana selling a few weapons to someone from Chicago may slightly aggravate the aforementioned problems, but his contribution is negligible compared to the other forces in play.

---nothing new--just the usual filler material jabber from the politicians and the press.

Yeah, I know – one thing about Proppressives is that they Always have a ready excuse for why their liberty destroying ideas don’t work.

In the case of gun control, it’s always because of ‘somewhere else’ that has guns.

But they can never explain why that ‘somewhere else’ doesn’t have the same problems they are having.

Ummm, he’s making the case that guns - like illegal drugs - should come from Mexico?

Ummm, he's making the case that guns - like illegal drugs - should come from Mexico? Cause there's NOTHING organized crime would like more than being handed the billion dollar gun industry. You think organized crime's powerful now? You ain't seen nothing yet. Give 'em the gun industry - and easier access to guns for criminals - and almost impossible access for honest citizens and this place become hell on earth. May liberal idiots burn in hell if they pull off this idiocy.

There are local cities - Aurora, Joliet, etc. - that do not have the same gun problems as Chicago. Why? they never had the strict gun laws Chicago has had in the past. The large mistakes were made in Chicago and that is where they remain as problems.

OK, I've a serious question; why is it I always read about some gun-seller (eeevil criminal) doing some manner of firearms transaction with an 'undercover' (goodguy/saint) 'agent' that is illegal in some manner that establishes that really, 'Gun Shows' are in actuality meeting-grounds for the criminal population?

I mean, bloody hell! I've been going to Gun Shows for more years than I can remember, and other than that time that I was lusting to buy that eight-thousand dollar pricetag Barret 50-calibre monster of a rifle that was just about as impressive lengthwise as I am tall, I have NEVER been able to find someone that says something like what is portrayed in these stories!

Right, I can see it now: "Psst! Hey Joe! You want gun? Mebbe many gun? You come ovvah, see if like!"

Now if you are interested in holsters, ammo and cartridge belts, vests, and hats and suchlike, you better believe you can get those easily at such places. But illegal items? In a place sure to be crawling with law-'enforcement' -types in civvies wandering about? No criminal with half a brain is going to make such an idiotic blunder, and of the very few ones who might be so inclined, they are most likely already already in the GreyBar Hotel for a previously-caught offense.

That seems to be the case in many cities – and yet the Media hasn’t picked up on this yet for some odd reason?
