On opposite sides of the world, the brother and sister sat transfixed before their computers, reading a stranger's account of long-ago secrets and deeply buried sins.
The memo was just four pages long, about an incident in 1963 at a Boy Scout camp in New Jersey. A Scout executive had gotten drunk during an overnight outing, then was discovered gambling with a group of boys. But there was more.

Spot on. Our Scout leader served on Tarawa and Iwo, and he made men of us, in spite of our self. He kept in touch with me when I was in the Corps.
Different era my friend. One that I miss sorely.
Scouting, athletics, hell, even school was more more than just attending and getting grades. It was to prepare us for manhood.
Too bad education became feminized.
I understand Robinson Curuso was caught trying to bugger a shipmate and he was not shipwrecked but maroned with just enough to survive. that could be why you didn’t hear of many cases
If they cave the organization is finished.
They go hammer and tong at the Catholic Church, because some Bishops protected homosexual, abusive priests, yet they're willing to set the same situations up in the Boy Scouts. Ironic, isn't it?
I refuse to believe that there is such a thing as a gay cub scout. I think prior to the age of puberty, it is few and far between that a boy, or girl, is actually homosexual. Even Fraud spoke of a latency period and for him all things where sex.
As for the Scouts, they, AND the Catholic Church, did what was expected at the time. Homosexuality and Pedophilia where considered mental disorders. They are in actuality by definition deviant sexual disorders. They sent the man to a mental institution AND kicked him out of the organization. What else was expected? I suppose they should have called the police, but at the time, that was the norm FOR ALMOST ALL ORGANIZATIONS.
Now the norm is touchy feely bull shit about how a person can’t help it, they where born that way. Well, Mr. Salem, our scout master, was a Marine veteran of Korea and along with my father and the other men with sons in the troop, would have corrected the attitude of anyone that would have sexually abused any child.
As for physical abuse, the camping in tents at 20Deg and having to eat our own cooking was enough physical abuse for anyone.

Homo activists want to re-establish their sex ring in the Scouts. If they give in to the homos, parents need to get their boys out of the Scouts. Scout leader have way too much authority, power and opportunity...
