Former Sex Slave Speaks Out At Gov. Scott’s Human Trafficking Event [Video: Miami Media Ignores]
Shark Tank ^ | 2/13/13 | Javier Manjarres

Florida Governor Rick Scott held a press conference at the State Attorney’s office in Miami, Florida, to bring attention to the ongoing worldwide human trafficking epidemic....

In his remarks, Governor Scott also pointed out the very first nationwide identification project (Victim Identification Pilot Project) that is set up to identify trafficking victims and gets them the help and support that they need.

Scott was joined by his wife Ann, State Attorney Katherine Fernandez-Rundle, Sweetwater Mayor Manny Morono, City of Miami Mayor Carlos Jimenez, DCF Secretary David Wilkins, and a slew of other advocacy group representatives intent on stopping the sex slave problem in Miami-Dade County...

While all of the invited guest and politicos took their turn in sharing some of their thoughts and concerns about human trafficking, the testimonial that Allison Goode gave about her personal experience and past involvement, both as a victim and as an inhibitor of the sex trade, helped cast human trafficking into a very different light.

Goode said that she felt “unwanted and unloved”, she didn’t feel valued, and at an early age, she was “pimped out for drugs, money and sex. Goode also said that by the time she turned 9 years old, she had already become a drug addict.

Goode then divulged to everyone that she had several abortions and several miscarriages, some of them being “self inflicted.” Her saving grace? God. Goode believes the we live in a “fallen world” and that she believes her “great purpose in this world” is to share God’s love with everyone.

Check out the video at the link--the testimony of this woman is meaningful.

Haven't seen a SINGLE word about this in the Miami media.

The Miami media hates Rick Scott with a passion, and the ONLY time they will report anything on his administration is if they can attack him.

For instance, Rick Scott has led the state so well that the state's CREDIT rating was UPGRADED--the same year that the Kenyan's failed leadership led to a DOWNGRADING of the nation's credit. Not a word about this in the Miami media.

Now, Rick Scott is helping the victims of the sex slave trade--but the media is ignoring his work at stopping this evil crime.

The media is ignoring this for several reasons.

One, they want to push the idea of prostitution being a “victimless crime” and that it should be “legalized” nationwide. Some of the far left portrays the prostitutes as being sexual entrepreneurs and therefore worthy of the respect due any small business operator.

Two, they want to neglect how human trafficking and its victims overlap with illegal immigration and its related crimes, including drug trafficking and identity theft.

Three, they are afraid of alienating the illegal immigrant population they see as their constituency.

Slavery should be a capital crime.

I am so happy for this young lady, she escaped and refused to saddle herself with victimm status. That alone is probably why the media refuses to cover the story. Vistims are what they seek, not survivors.

The Miami media hates Rick Scott with a passion,

You've got that right and it goes beyond Miami to all the liberal papers, which is most of them.

“Slavery should be a capital crime.”

Yeah, well, try locking up all the Democrats. Not really feasible.

Slavery should be a capital crime.

Maybe, but there are more that should be capital-crimes before it: Rape, Abortion, most Treason, Murder.
The political elite have been trying to get capital-punishment barred; sometimes I cynically think it is because they know that they should be put to death.

Hammer, meet nail. That's the same reason the media ignores the homeowner who defends themselves using a gun against an invader, but runs to cover the innocent victims of the latest gang-banger drive-by shooting.

Witness Hadiya Pendleton in Chicago.
