"... the Illinois Legislature passed a 67% hike in its corporate and personal income tax.
The state is struggling with a structural deficit and its credit rating was recently lowered.
The state now has the worst credit rating in the country. "
I don't blame them.
Screw Illinois!
If you want something destroyed, just vote the Democrats in, and they will destroy it!

I don’t blame them but I don’t like them. As a property adjuster I call them SNAKE FARM. Allstate is ALL SNAKE. They both screw their policy holders when they have a claim.

... The state government, however, is now completely controlled by Democratic Party supermajorities. Gov. Pat Quinn and public sector unions have been pushing for a progressive income tax. This is on top of the 67% across-the-board income tax increase that Illinois residents have already suffered. The state is bankrupt at every level, including counties and municipalities. And one of the most enormous factors in this bankruptcy is the bloated pension system for public employee unions.

Illinois is on the path to being Detroit. Score one more for Democrats and the parasites that keep voting them in office. Once the parasites take over the host soon dies.

The poison of Chicago politics kills another otherwise healthy downstate economy Do you live in or near Chicago? The reason I ask is that people who live in that area seem to use the tern, "down state" for all of Illinois not near Chicago.
Bloomington, Illinois, where State Farm is located, is central Illinois. I've even seen Rockford, Illinois referred to as "down state" it isn't either.

State Farm is a huge employer in Bloomington, Illinois. This is going to really effect their economy. Thanks Democrat House, Thanks democrat senate, thanks democrat Governor, thanks Chicago and Cook county for giving us all that business/jobs destroying legislation.
There are ties and obstacles that keep me here, bonds that right now are unbreakable. I would love to leave and get away from insane democrat rule.

I'm not too sure I'm all that thrilled about being inundated with another swarm of locusts liberals who will try to foul up Texas like they did in Illinois

One of the speakers at the Free Republic March for Justice in Washington, DC, on October 31, 1998, told how State Farm had been the victim of a shake-down by the Clinton administration. I think it was for several million dollars. I don't remember where the money went (to the Clinton political machine or to the federal government).
I wasn't at the March for Justice but watched it on C-SPAN.
