An Idaho man accused of uttering a racial slur and slapping a crying 19-month-old boy on a Delta Air Lines flight is now out of a job.
Joe Rickey Hundley of Hayden, Idaho, was charged with assaulting a minor in the February 8 incident. His company, which initially suspended him, said Sunday that Hundley no longer has his job.
"Reports of the recent behavior of one of our business unit executives while on personal travel are offensive and disturbing," said a statement from AGC Aerospace & Defense. "We have taken this matter very seriously and worked diligently to examine it since learning of the matter on Friday afternoon.
"As of Sunday, the executive is no longer employed with the company."
AGC Aerospace & Defense supplies technology and other services to the military and businesses.

I agree, if some guy slapped one of my kids, plane or no plane he’d receive the beating of a lifetime.

Mind you, I think the guy’s behavior is deplorable, and he deserved to be fired and prosecuted for attacking an innocent child.
But you just have to wonder about the priorities of today’s ‘news industry.’
A guy hits a baby on a plane and anyone is surprised it’s national news. The name-calling is just window dressing to make it seem worse, but make no mistake, when a grown man strikes a child on an airline it is big news.
The man is a clear piece of sh&t, and deserves what he gets, yet some of you are trying to turn this into an example of political correctness. Bet if it was your kid you’d react differently.

Forget about the racial part for a moment: A man slaps a crying child in the face on a major air line??? I'm not surprised that it made national headlines.
If it were my child, the headlines would be bigger than that!

I bet he gets a diagnosis from a psych and files an ADA grievance.
Also, why is this--a guy acting like a jackass on a plane--national news?
Why are you ignoring the fact that this guy slapped a toddler? He's charged with assault. Try saying something polite and slapping a toddler and see if you get a better deal.
If true, this was handled properly. The guy lost his job and probably is going to get sued. And if someone getting drunk and urinating in the aisle on a plane is news, then I don’t see any reason why this shouldn’t be news.

The only witness I have seen in all these stories claims to have heard and understood the accused using derogatory language from 12 rows ahead during final descent.
That is a dubious claim.
Everyone is assuming guilt because of the nature of the charge, not because of the evidence. Like sheep following the MSM.

Interesting comment. So, if this were in public, you'd kill the guy on the spot just for slapping a child? You don't think a proper trial and imprisonment might be in order? Just curious...
