For older Japanese-Americans, the discrimination and attacks on Muslims and Sikhs are opening afresh an old wound that never healed.
To show support for Arab-Americans, the South Bay's Japanese-American community held a somber candlelight ceremony and procession at San Jose Buddhist Church on Sunday evening, linking diverse faiths through similar fears.
The "Day of Remembrance" is an annual commemoration of Feb. 19, 1942, a day that changed the lives of Japanese-Americans forever. Citing concerns about wartime sabotage and espionage, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed an order that led to the internment of more than 110,000 people of Japanese ancestry at 10 camps scattered across seven.
But the gathering evoked memories of more recent horrors, such as the murder of the six worshipers at a Sikh temple in Oak Creek, Wisc., and the burning of a mosque in Joplin, Mo.

How about the 2,996 who died in the World Trade Center? How about the Ft. Hood soldiers?

Disgusting. Reality check: There are also patriotic Americans of Japanese descent, as well as America-loving Japanese immigrants to this country.
However, there is an elite among Americans of Japanese descent — a lot of them living in California and Hawaii — who are leftists to the core.
Send him back.
I wonder how the Sikhs feel about even being mentioned in the same breath as the murdering moose-limbs who strap bombs on babies and kill at the drop of a hat?
Sorry, but these are different days.
Japanese have honor.
Muslims do not.
And how do two incidents perpetrated by two lone lunatics deny fair treatment under the Constitution to Muslims and Sikhs? Unlike WWII, when Democrat Roosevelt used government power to round up Japanese-Americans, these two, relatively minor incidents have nothing to do with government abusing its powers. In fact, the government moved quickly to investigate. If you want to see government abuse of power, look how the government is trying to cover up Ft. Hood and the other incidents where Muslim lunatics killed Americans on American soil.
Seems that the focus of their protest is misdirected. Should head down to the local Democratic Party headquarters. It was a Democrat President and a Democrat Supreme Court Justice who put them in the internment camps.
We don't even need Muslims to be involved to see government abuse; proof: Fast & Furious.
Never forget that liberal icons FDR and Earl Warren supported the internment of American citizens of Japanese ancestry—a policy that was opposed by FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover, who has long been in the liberal doghouse, and conservative hero Senator Robert A. Taft (R-Ohio).
Response: I keep hoping that the Euroamerican will come out of his propaganda induced slumber and realize that members of the Third World have formed a coalition designed to take over this nation. Simply look at the statistics reflecting minority voting in the last two elections. The minority turnout was sufficient to elect a Third World person as President.
