JOLIET, Ill. Drew Peterson -- the swaggering former suburban Chicago police officer who gained notoriety after his much-younger fourth wife vanished in 2007 -- was sentenced to 38 years in prison on Thursday for murdering his third wife.
Illinois does not have the death penalty, and the 59-year-old Peterson had faced a maximum 60-year prison term. The judge gave him four years' credit for time he has served since his arrest.
Jurors convicted Peterson in September in Kathleen Savio's 2004 death. Neighbors found the 40-year-old's body in a dry bathtub at home with a gash on her head -- her hair soaked in blood.

:)...............LOL!
My guess is he will appeal based on that Lifetime movie that ran about him while the trial was still going on.
Good! It’s obvious that he did it, and he knows where wife #4 is because he killed her and hid her body. Now that he’s going to likely be spending the rest of his life in prison, he could reveal where her body is, but I’m sure he won’t, even if he were to lose his inevitable appeal. Her poor family would love to know where he put her. He’s too much of a cocky jerk to ever admit to it.
Ex-cop?
I’ve seen his swagger and braggadocio during interviews.
He’ll be a popular guy in the slammer!
This is a death sentence, unless he consents to solitary confinement.
That's another kind of death sentence.
