these panic buttons will immediately place a call to 911 when pushed by school officials.
Good to know.
When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

This is another 'feel-good-ism' that is about as practical as bigger Gun Free Zone signs.

these panic buttons will immediately place a call to 911 when pushed by school officials. How does the button know if it's being pushed by a school official?

It may help get EMS there sooner to clean up the bodies.
How about a portable panic device with a trigger and a lot of stopping power?

Okay, so how many times are students going to press the panic button to get out of school early?

Whole new category to “pulling the fire alarm.”

I guess those parents now can sigh with relief. The Sandy Hook cops were only 3 miles away and took 23 minutes to collect their gear and show up.

I have always thought a “Panic Button” was called a ‘trigger’.

I have had panic buttons installed on each one of my firearms. They are installed inside the trigger guards.

"... these panic buttons will immediately place a call to 911 when pushed by school officials." Just what I would expect from school bureaucrats... only an official like a principal or vice principal would be allowed to push the panic button and I'm sure the teachers unions would find pushing panic buttons are not part of their union contracts or would demand extra compensation for the new responsibility of pushing panic buttons.
If we are to have safe schools let security professionals and law enforcement design the security systems not these idiot school administrators and bureaucrats.

Push the panic button and a fellow teacher will come running to throw pencils and scissors at the killer... Yep - gun free zones - where only the killer is armed.

why don’t they just give them those big red “easy” buttons, they will be literally as effective at stopping a mass murderer.
