It is becoming more liberal. In the last decade some real stupid has crept in, and I can only attribute it to the tsunami of Californians and Louisianians that have relocated here. Up until hurricane Katrina (which moved a bunch of welfare recipients into Houston) we were still fairly logical down here. Now? Only just.

The O&G development areas (West Texas and South-central Texas) are still solidly conservative.

Up until hurricane Katrina (which moved a bunch of welfare recipients into Houston) we were still fairly logical down here. Now? Only just. Thank you. When I commented on some of these things a few years ago I got a lot of 'don't let the door hit you on the butt on your way out' comments in response. The biggest thing that horrified me about Texas was that most Texans are too stubborn to admit that they have a growing problem. Any criticism seems to be taken personally. Too many Texans feel so secure that they don't bother to defend their liberty.
