The biggest concern with issuing them a driver’s license without any designation on it would be that they can use that license to VOTE!

YES!

There was just an article in the Cleveland (OH) Plain Dealer yesterday about the Obama administration's "new" policy...children who were brought here illegally at a very young age and have lived here ever since can now (theoretically) be given a two year "legal status" to be here, including a SS # and driver's license, and of the two 20-something people featured in the article, one was successful getting a license, while the other one was not, JUST because the BMV clerks had differing views on their "eligibility".

I couldn't find anything posted here about this, but it really begs the questions: how can the Administration just set this policy without any vote from Congress?? and, what is to stop these supposedly "temporarily legal" people from voting??

This federal "DACA" program is surely extra-Constitutional???!

Absolutely.
In California, a driver's license is all that is required to register to vote. Extending licenses through the Dream Act has the consequence you mention. It may be a large portion of why it failed to pass in the Senate. Coinkydink? I think not.

Obama's throwdown was just more of his political style. There is no bringing factions together, his deeds, particularly his 'round the bout method of putting the Act's provision into effect, is sort-of like OBL attacking the WTC. OBL wanted "America" to come after him and his crew in an Islamic nation, so that all of Islam would become more inflamed and enraged then they were before.

It worked. They are inflamed.

Any opposition to the "dream" as it has been played, is more grist for the mill of setting folks one against the other. There is no reasoning with people like Obama (in the political realm) any more than there is with the Osamas of the world. Force is needed. They only "agree" when faced with no choice but to do so.

We need the political "force". Maybe the gun grabbers will give it to us, like they did so well in '94? Or is it my turn to be dreaming?

The discontent level (regarding Bronco Bammy) was only exceeded by the disinterest level regarding the Mittens. THAT's how bad things are for Bammy...if we can just find ways to capitalize upon that, without further polarization.
