In a just world this couple would be President and Senate Majority Leader, Not the criminals currently infesting those offices.

And that Camaro sports car Hill considered buying with his winnings? He got a pick-up truck instead.

I hope it was a Ford.

I think the older you are when you win, the more conservative in your spending. It doesn’t go to your head.

I think the first thing I would do is contact my local township politicians and state representative, senator, and governor for a comprehensive estimate on the hurdles I would face if I wanted to pay for a hydroelectric retrofit on the small dam here in town.

$587 million Powerball jackpot in November. They netted $136.5 million in a lump-sum.

I’d like to see lotto’s breakdown of WHERE they spent their
share. I want names, dates & places!

“They are giving back to the community,”

...I’m happy for the town, the couple etc. But I can’t stand this phrase! The couple owes the town nothing. They don’t have to “give back” a damn thing! They’re just being generous.

Did they pay their “fair share”? Sounds like they need some serious couch time with a shrink. They must be disturbed if they don’t know how to waste their new found fortune. If that is proven, they should be denied access to firearms. And why is it called “giving back”? How about being charitable and a good neighbor? Every time I hear some dumb ass say he’s “giving back” or “community service” (that used to be what you were sentenced to after you committed a minor crime)or “buy back”, I want to puke.

Why...isn’t it wrong to have more money than someone else? “Give back”? It is only “fair” in new nobamamerika.

Nah. Jack Whittaker won the largest single prize Powerball, $300 million, to which he took a single payout, after tax, of $120 million. He was an older man, who even owned a multi-million construction company.

He was broke after within 5 years of winning.

It’s all about the values you’ve been cultivating up until the lottery win. Good values will make it good fortune. Borderline values will make it hell on earth.

While some lottery winners fritter away their fortunes or meet tragic ends, not much has outwardly changed for Mark and Cindy Hill since they won half of a $587 million Powerball jackpot in November. They netted $136.5 million in a lump-sum payment after taxes.

Their generosity is even more noteworthy considering that somebody stole most of their money.

Good point. That phrase does identify the mindset of the speaker, doesn't it?

I understand what you’re saying, that to do so is somehow expected, and can’t be attributed to generosity.

A local organ donation group had a similar phrase: “You’ve been given the gift of Life — give it back!” ... very inappropriate, and GOD gives us life to make as we will. If we wish to “pass it on”, that’s our choice as with all our gifts.

Well, hussein did say that sooner or later you’ve made enough money. I guess that’s why the hildebeast is going to make people pony up 200K for her speeches/lectures. So she can reach that magic number(whatever that number is) sooner or later. Which is far higher number than than us peons can make. But, “What difference does it make now?”. Typical of the radical left wing extremist demokkkrat scumbags. No offense to scumbags.

If I won that kind of $$$ I'd buy a $300K place in NC (which would be my homestead),a $600K co-op/condo on the Upper West Side of Manhattan,a $200K condo in Florida,a $100K Porsche,I'd give $10 million to family and friends, keep $5 million as a nest egg for myself (in bonds and/or gold) and give the rest to charity.

I’ve read more than a few times that it’s very common for winners of big lottery jackpots wind up in bankruptcy court within a few years of winning.

His friend says he's doing some nice things for the community. But the politicians calls it "giving back."

That is SO telling. The Mayor is a TRUE politician.

I don’t understand why they only get 136 million. That is a huge amount, but still.
