Obama the Transparency President: I Want 'To Clear Out the Press So We Can Take Some Questions' By Tim Graham Created 02/25/2013 - 1:04pm

At his media blog for The Washington Post, Erik Wemple expressed amazement at how "President Obama finished an address to members of the the National Governors Association at the White House by saying, 'What I want to do is clear out the press so we can take some questions.'”

This is the latest example of how Team Obama has utterly failed to live up to its promise of being the most transparent administration in American history, which the president still asserts. Wemple added:

Seems there’s a contest of sorts going on within the White House: Who can fashion the most Orwellian quote regarding open government? Here’s the quote that Obama had to beat, from White House counterterrorism chief John O. Brennan at his confirmation hearing to be the director of the Central Intelligence Agency: “What we need to do is optimize transparency on these issues, but at the same time, optimize secrecy and the protection of our national security.”

At some point, this press corps needs to decide whether they serve Obama first, or serve the public first.

Why would anyone think they serve the public?

Probably because he wanted to threaten them.

Obama: "I want to clear out the press so we can take some questions..."

Mika Brzezinski, Bill Mahar, Juan Williams, et al, will bark and whoop in delighted agreement.

Most transparent regime in history.
I, for one, see right through him!

“clear our the press” means “you have not bowed down to me enough and stop asking tough questions before my golf game”.

Did he actually say that ON CAMERA?

If so it needs to be replayed and laughed at repeatedly. Now Obama’s attacking the 2nd AND 1st Amendment.

Plausible deniablity for the corps. (not corpse) They will not report on what makes Obama look like the failure he is, and they cannot report on that which they did not witness.
Win-Win for them.

Chris Matthews is remembered for wanting to make Obama’s Administration a success.

They made that decision a long time ago.

The press aka main stream media is being by passed. So the old prostitutes who are standing on the corner with too much makeup, saggy mammary glands in too tight clothing with multiple tattoos are wanting some RESPECT ? As Samuel Clemens said... “we know what you are.. what we are trying to establish is “HOW MUCH”. Lying with dogs gets you fleas.. I think the fleas have come home to roost.. (apologies to all prostitutes everywhere, at least there is truth in advertising)

“this press corps needs to decide whether they serve Obama first, or serve the public first.”

Have to laugh at this. They made this decision about five years ago. The moment Obama announced he was running for president, they served one man and one cause.

Soetoro wanted to clear out the press because he didn’t want them to see how he was going to blackmail the Governors.

Odumbo already had his meeting with the press corps last week. He pre-informed them so it would appear that he is trying to keep them in the dark. And what do we hear about it now?...............Crickets

What a phony he is.

Apparently even members of the press - otherwise known as Obama’s Cheerleaders or his Ministry of Propaganda - are becoming frustrated with Dear Leader’s incompetence, chronic dissembling, and outright lies.

It’s becoming increasingly difficult to propagate the falsehood that the fifth consecutive year of sub-par economics is still “Bush’s Fault,” or that the constant gaffes in foreign policy and the endless non-productive Arab-stroking are leading anywhere at all but to the decline of the United States and rise of Moslem revolution.
