(CNSNews.com) - Colin Goddard, who was shot several times in the Virginia Tech shooting massacre and now works as assistant director of federal legislation for the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, said Friday that college campuses are “one of the safest places you can be in this country.”
“College campuses are actually one of the safest places you can be in this country. People aged between 18 and 24 who live on college campuses are one of the constituencies that are least likely to ever get hit by bullet, and if you live anywhere else but a campus, that percentage goes much higher, so I think that’s in large part due to the fact that you’re not allowed to carry firearms there,” Goddard said on C-SPAN’s “Washington Journal” when asked if he would have thought about carrying a gun to the classroom.

His definition of “safe” is “hit by a bullet”. Miscreants have come to the same conclusion and that is why most campuses do not supply uniform reports on violence, burglary, rape, and general mayhem.
It depends on what the meaning of “safe” is.
Safe for who? Not women. The building I worked at never experienced a rape, which is common at all colleges.
I haven’t seen the Campus Cops fading away.
I wonder how many were shot AFTER he was, that he could have saved if he had had a gun.

If the statement is true (and, coming from a libtard, I sincerely doubt it), I guess that the reason for the safety are those rules about “gun free” zones?
Or perhaps because most students are too poor to own weapons?
Of perhaps because criminals know that students are not worth robbing?

Colleges are generaly safe, but it is because of who is there (college kids), not because of senseless gun bans.
Guns are banned in bad neighborhoods in Detroit and Chicago, but they are worse than Bagdad — because of who lives in Detroit and Chicago.
I don’t like this term but it does originate with the left. Brady and Goddard, through their survival have been made into little more than “useful idiots”.
