Beyond my job description, and strictly a matter of perception, but it seemed like a narrow “band” overhead going east/west at low elevation was the source, later gaining in elevation and shifting northward. Felt like a narrow river of force or wind was the source of sound/vibration, not just widespread all across the sky.

This was very loud, and while we had hi velocity wind gusts during the day, at this time of night wind speed was 10-15mph on the ground. Sounded like a giant prop plane with a pipe organ aboard was suspended in the sky, very loud and with a vibration that made your teeth feel like they were rattling. Undulating st first, then after it shifted and seemed to gain altitude it got intermittent, but the vibration continued even during the periods of near silence. I’m a sailor, experienced all kinds of wind and weather, but this was a new one.

Almost reads as if you are describing the train noise that a Tornado can make, but at a less intense scale. Maybe you did have some rotating clouds over head, but they were rotating in the horizontal plane. How long did the sound last ?
