Human longevity has improved so rapidly over the past century that 72 is the new 30, scientists say.
Researchers at the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research in Rostock, Germany, said progress in lowering the odds of death at all ages has been so rapid since 1900 that life expectancy has risen faster than it did in the previous 200 millennia since modern man began to evolve from hominid species.
The pace of increase in life expectancy has left industrialized economies unprepared for the cost of providing retirement income to so many for so long

72 is the new 30? Hmmmmmm.
So, I’m 55, and compared to how I felt at 30, it’s not a trivial difference. I’m much more tired, much more irritable, and significantly less sharp mentally. I can only imagine how I’ll feel when/if I make it to 72.
So, they’re trying to tell me that 50 years ago, 30 year olds felt like I’ll feel at 72?!
Yeah, right.

Hooray! Two and a half more years and I’m 30 again! WooHooo!
I’m 51 and since I was 25 I have felt like “72”.
At least these types aren't educating the youth. Has he been to a hospital in the last 10 years?

One of the implications of this is that retirement should be at about 80 for most people.
First thing that popped into my head seeing the number “72” here was the number of Houri virgins that the Koran promises to the “faithful”.
But that makes college students 13, and hence, jailbait.
So now we can all subtract 42 years from our age? Crap, I’m back in high school. I may just skip college this time.
My “Father-Out-Law’ said that when I started dating his daughter(when I was 25) I was the OLDEST 25 Year Old he had EVER seen.

I thought they were saying that compared to 113 years ago, the life expectancy going forward was the same....
I just thought of 42, that is after the answer to everything.
let’s see....Obamacare was going to drive some curve down.....yep, I think that’s the one.
