Human longevity has improved so rapidly over the past century that 72 is the new 30, scientists say.
Researchers at the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research in Rostock, Germany, said progress in lowering the odds of death at all ages has been so rapid since 1900 that life expectancy has risen faster than it did in the previous 200 millennia since modern man began to evolve from hominid species.
The pace of increase in life expectancy has left industrialized economies unprepared for the cost of providing retirement income to so many for so long

This is to raise the retirement age to 156...
72 : 30 :: 156 : 65
Methuselah would debunk all of this if he were here.
So now you can claim Health Insurance under your parents until you hit Medicare
Consider the late Jack Lalane. He lived in exercise and strict healthy diet and made it to 95 and good for him. I’m 56 and don’t think I will make that nor desire to live that long. Heaven will be a graduation of joy vs being too old and decrepit on earth.
Does that mean I can get SS at 30? Or do I have to wait til I’m 150?
“Va-va-voom, Ralphy boy!”
You can get SS at 30 with the right disability lawyer.
They advertise on tv here all the time.
“You’ve paid into the system your whole working life, now get the benefits you deserve! No fees until your case settles.”
Go for it.....
At 70, I can tell you that 70 is the new 50 with a fair degree of certainty.
I’m not yet 72, but I sure don’t feel 30.
I am 79 and have aches and pains from Fibromyalgia when I wake up (take two pills for that) and one knee that has already had day surgery to clean out arthritis, won't walk a long way without pain starting. However, my mind is sharp and my memory is excellent, and I still make a difference in this world.
I write prepper articles on Survival Podcast website and many people prepare using those articles I continue to write. So, I am still helping people at age 79.
For you, you don't know how your life will evolve down the road, but have hope and courage your life will still be worth living at 95 - I hope mine will be. Good luck to you.
ahhh to be 25 again.. ahhhh.
Let me know when I can roll back my 43 to a nice 25 and let it ride for a few Eons...
Retirement? What is this 'retirement' they speak of??
I’m 56 and went out with a 19 year old the other night - and I have very little money . It’s true !
yeah beause so mnany 72 year olds are drop dead gorgeous, not sagging, and not on a dozen medications.
what bull crap.
So... What is that in dog years ?
So is that common in Japan?
I wouldn’t say common , but not unusual . Of course I spent some money , but not a heck of a lot more than I would have spent on someone around my age .
