PICKENS COUNTY, S.C. --
One plea after the other, people urged the Pickens County School Board to continue its policy of student-led prayer.
"Please don't rob us of our faith," said Gary Gwinn, a Pickens County resident.
The Freedom From Religion Foundation threatened to sue this school board if the prayers continue. That lawsuit could cost taxpayers like you millions of dollars.
"You've got all this risk and in the end your going to lose anyway," said Pickens County School Board Member Alex Saitta.
Religion and philosophy professor Dr. Peter Cohen runs Hillel, which is a Jewish organization on the Clemson University campus. He says school board meetings are no place for overtly Christian prayers.

Do it anyway dare them to move on it, don’t show in court and don’t don’t pay. What can they own the school district then force them to run it and sue for violating the civil rights of the praying students.

The comments there are nauseating. Popular opinion there seems to be that the freedom to pray violates the Constitution.
WIS TV in Columbia SC reports that the group “Freedom From Religion” fell short of their goal to eliminate the prayer in its entirety, not just eliminating the references to a specific religion. They intend to sue anyway.

BULLSHIT!
If you are not forcing anyone to pray you are in the right. Do not be bullied by the communist lawyers and the Federal Government. Tell them to shove it where the son shine won;t hit it! No matter what the Fed Government does ignore it. Don’t pay any fines and keep on praying. These are our children and our schools, paid for by us.
We were taught as children- stand up for God at all costs- He stood up for you when He died on the cross- He suffered greatly because of our sins.
That’s how I try to live my life....it is not always easy...and my views have cost me some friends over the years but God is my Judge....He is my center and He is who I answer to.....besides, His love, grace and mercy sustain me when all else fails.
Amen
Agreed.
If we start calling them on this they will either stop or have a whole lot more work on their hands. What will the courts do if we tell the anti God people to pound sand and then let the judge enforce his pulling. Obama does it do why can’t we?

Of course you’re right!
Freedom from Religion is an atheist group trying to impose their religion on the rest of us. I would tell them to just go away and that the students could continue to pray. I am really, really sick of atheists and their attempts to cram their religion down our throats!
