I disagree with this. I think some do choose it, due to peer pressure, to be cool, to be outre, to have something to talk about at parties, to join a victim class, to get attention.
Then you can get conditioned to enjoying it, I guess, and it may become more automatic. But I definitely think some people choose it.
Not a popular position to take but a correct position. Most with same-sex attraction don't choose their same-sex attraction but then there are the queerbychoice group. And some choose it for the reasons you mentioned.
While I need to read the article more closely, I think he hits many of the key points perfectly.
