The intention of the 2nd Amendment was specifically about safeguarding the People's right to keep and bear weapons "designed for combat" thus the first clause.

I don't own an assault weapon anyway.
Those were tightly restricted by the National Firearms Act of 1934.

I do own a Tyranny Response Rifle.
